Edited Review: My family and I recently on October 24 went to Cozy thai to celebrate our anniversary of becoming a family. I couldn't tell you how much I LOVE this restaurant!! I LOVE their fried dumplings, an appetizer. I LOVE their Tofu Pad Thai. I also LOVE their sticky rice and mango dessert. I'm editing this review because this place deserves five stars for it's food and customer service. Each and every time, I have been there, the customer service has been above excellent. I would highly recommend this restaurant for people who are willing and likes authentic thai food. I have tried quite a few thai food from the buffalo area. I will tell you this place is the BEST. The quality of the food is excellent.
Previous Review: I have been to Cozy Thai, quite a lot when my family and I first discovered it a few years ago. I have really enjoyed coming to eat their for my birthday and any other special occasion. My favorite dish is the Tofu Pad Thai!!!! Great fried dumplings, as an appetizer!! Great sticky rice and mango dessert!
The last couple times I went, the food was till amazing but I felt displeased with a couple things with the communication part. A month ago, my sister and I went there for lunch and they charged us the dinner price because we didn't clarify that we wanted the lunch version. We thought since it was lunch time, they would charge us the lunch price automatically. Instead, they charge us the dinner or regular price. I haven't had that kind of experience in any other restaurant.
We went on our birthday, a couple weeks ago. My sister, dad, and I we all order the same thing. We told the worker what we want: 3 orders of Tofu Pad Thai; 1 order of vegetable fried dumplings; and 1 order of sticky mango rice for dessert. They repeated back our order to us before sending it to the kitchen. Our food came and we were disappointed to find out that they gave us: 3 orders of Vegetable Pad Thai. There's a difference between tofu and vegetable pad thai.
When the worker was repeating our order back to us, we didn't catch that she misheard us and thought that we ordered 3 orders of vegetable pad thai. At the end, it was both of our faults. It is our fault for not listening better when the worker was repeating our order and it is there fault for not listening better. The food was still good but my sisters and I are not big fans of vegetables especially zucchini so we were disappointed when they came out with the vegetable pad thai instead of tofu pad thai.
Cozy Thai, is overall a great authentic Thai food restaurant!!! I would highly recommend just remember:
If you going around lunch time make sure you specific that you want the lunch price. Listen carefully when the waitress/server is repeating back your order to you.
Cheers to the best Thai food in the...
Read moreCozy Thai is one of my favorite Thai go to's and the service I had tonight was beyond horrible. We got sat in the table in the far back when it wasn't even a busy time, our server never came to ask us for our drinks until 15 mins after we sat. We had an appetizer and after we were done eating that we were still waiting to put our dinner order in. She finally came back and we ordered two soups and an entree each. 20 mins go by, our soups never came she drops off our entrees I asked about our soup she acted like she was confused about our soup... She brings them out and I asked to speak to a manager (which I never do) and she literally laughed at me and went and cleaned a table.
I got up to find someone, apparently there was no manager or owner on site so I spoke with someone else who also laughed at us while we explained our experience and kept saying the server was very sick and didn't feel good and was short staffed. Mind you... There were only 3 other tables in the restaurant and why the hell would you tell me my server is very sick? She looked completely fine by the way but if she's that sick why is she even there? Anyway, whoever we spoke too said we didn't need to pay for our food. I was ready to leave either way, but my sister was really hungry so we just decided to finish our dinner and leave.. as she tried her soup there was a hair in it so we just left. I'm so disappointed. I will probably never return again which is sad because I loved that place. Worst service I have ever...
Read moreI ordered the cozy rice, seafood fried rice and chicken teriyaki. The gentleman at the counter is passionate about the food, and explained all the wonderful nuances about the meal we ordered as we were cashing out. He puts a lot of love and pride into the food, and it shows! I had passed by this place several times and wanted to try it and am kicking myself for waiting so long! The prices are very reasonable, the portions more than adequate, and you can taste the care that each fish is prepared with. I love the employees enthusiasm for the food, all around, was a wonderful experience. If you want to try something unique and fresh, and very carefully prepared, give this place a chance. Just be aware, their food can be ordered EXTREMELY spicy, even if you think you like things super hot, knock it down a few notches, the spice this place is capable of is like nothing I've ever seen, so listen to your server explain it carefully, do you don't end up with a meal that's too spicy to eat ( I like it hot, but ordered mild, and mine was perfect), and if you like crazy hot spicy food and can't find anything hot enough elsewhere, try...
