Went today for a Mothers Day brunch. We chose the late seating. Upon opening the doors at 2 pm it was a mad rush of patrons. They allowed everyone in at the same time which created a mess. The Buffet was par at the most. Eggs were over cooked and turning brown, Ham was soaking in hot water, which caused it to dry out. Mashed potatoes were a large clump of goo. Good thing for the gravy. The pork roll ups were disgusting- more fat on the slices than there was meat ( again placed in a pan soaking in hot water which made the stuffing a mess) Not even 30 minutes into the buffet they were running out of food ( except cheap dishes like Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes) while people in the end of the line had to take what was left. They had a children’s section set up with French toast sticks, tater tots, and chicken fingers. At 2:25 they closed down the children’s table “because adults were eating that food as well.” Well O’Brien’s 1st off ~ if the other food would have been available for patrons they wouldn’t have went to the children’s table to try to fill their plates. 2nd if you run a buffet you have to take the good with the bad and keep your serving dishes filled. And lastly maybe you should consider extending your dining time by adding an hour and instead of having a mess and running out of food you only make reservations in 15 minute increments that way you don’t end up with what you had today ~ a total cluster ( you know what) and many guests leaving unhappy … because our party was not the only...
Read moreReceived dinner in conjunction with murder mystery train ride last Saturday Disappointed because we made several calls and emails to owner of restaurant and contact at railroad to make sure gluten free food would be available for member of our party. At first they offered a special gluten free plate and the menu that would be offered which sounded great! Followed up on Friday to make sure all set and told all food would be all gluten free! Email received of confirmation also from railroad contact. We were all set! When we got there were not gluten free rolls and not sure if roast beef in gravy and how the other foods prepared. This menu was different from original. The family member went to staff to inquire about preparation just to make sure. The member of the restaurant did not know about our inquiry and special needs of our family member I mentioned I spoke to owner but the worker was not aware of any conversation? They came out with roll that looked burned on edges like it was stuck on grill. There were boxes of cookies in a corner but nothing gluten free. I would have paid extra for something extra because gluten free allergy tends to isolate people at meals when going out to have a meal. Just disappointing in the customer service department. Food was good for us but they advertise how they cater to gluten free customers but we...
Read moreSo we had the strangest experience at the West End tonight and have never been asked this question before…we ordered drinks and water. The waitress actually asked us if we were really going to drink the water because if we weren’t she really doesn’t want to bring us any….I’m sorry…what? After we said yes, she was very “cool” towards us the rest of our time there. And when she brought us our water…they were in the tiniest of glasses…maybe four ounce glasses? Absolutely ridiculous…like a punishment for saying yes we want water. She ended up having to refill them three and four times. Absolutely the most odd and ridiculous restaurant experience we have ever had. This was our second time at the new West End…first was great…this time bad. Not sure there will be a third.
Responding to O’Briens response…NOPE DID NOT HAPPEN THAT WAY AT ALL…just the three small glasses to the first three people and they were only brought over after we said we wanted them…can’t make up her statement of “I’ll only bring if you’re really going to drink them”. Let it go…it can’t be defended because she said it and...
