This restaurant used to be so good. We went every few weeks. The last time we were there, it was truly awful. It took 30 minutes for our waitress to come to our table, after telling the hostess our waitress had not come to our table about 15 minutes into the wait. She took our drink order. We asked to order our meals as well, and she said she would do that when bringing our drinks. Another 30 minutes went by, and we got our drinks. She took our order, finally. Our food took almost an hour to come to our table. Other tables who were sat after us received their food before us. Our order was very simple. Two tacos for myself, and a burrito for my husband. The waitress never checked on us. About half way through the wait we again approached the hostess to tell him the situation, and asked to speak to a manager. He just told us there was nothing that could be done and shrugged. He did not get the manager as requested. He must have said something to the waitress, because when the food finally came she was exceptionally rude. The food was cold and looked like it had been sitting around for a while, as the beans had a slight crust on them. Asked for a drink refill which we never received. When we left the house for a âquick biteâ, we had no idea we would have a 3 hour, very frustrating dinner experience. No apology offered on the restaurants part. Not enjoyable in the least. We have, and never will, go back to this establishment. There are so many other very good choices in the downtown Hartford area. Staff really can make or break an...
Read moreNot sure how this place has good reviews? NO atmosphere. My husband and I agreed we should have turned around right when we walked in but wanted to give it a try.
Sticky floors. Slanted floors in the back with our table on an angle. Not fun for a pregnant lady. The most uncomfortable chair I have ever sat on. The seat is tiny.
Donât order fajitas. 75% of it was peppers and onions with 25% steak and chicken. The waitress told me both kinds of tortillas would be toasted, so I chose corn and they were over steamed sweat socks. The plate with side items must have been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. It did take a long time to get our food. So the guacamole was browned on top, sour cream warm, lettuce looked like it would give you food poisoning and the beans and rice were dry and flavorless.
Maybe I made a poor choice? My husband ordered the combo platter. He said it was ok, but he couldnât eat his taco bc the corn tortilla turned to mush and disintegrated.
The waitress was ok...it took her a long time to check on us.
Will I ever go back? NO. We will drive the 30 mins to West Allis where we know Mom is in the back making authentic Mexican food. Maybe try it if youâre planning to get drunk off pitchers of margaritas...I could see that...
Read moreWe visited on a Thursday night around 6:15 pm as a special treat after my son's soccer game and my birthday. There were several tables open at that point, but aside from getting chips, we waited at least 15 minutes to be greeted by our waitress for a drink order. It took at least another 20 minutes for us to get our waitress's attention to order our food. They were out of what I wanted (tamales) so I chose the nachos.
We (my famished family of 4) then waited at least 45 minutes for our food - never visited by our waitress that whole time. When the food finally came (I had done all I could to keep family morale positive), my son's and my nachos were soggy and gross. He couldn't even eat them, but I was too hungry to be picky. I then had to go up to the counter to ask for something we needed because our waitress never came back. It took a long time to get out waitress's attention to get our check.
We finally left at 8:00pm (shocked to see how every table was now full). My wife and daughter enjoyed their meals, but the wait to get them was ridiculous. Needless to say, this, our first visit will most certainly be our last. What a waste of money and of too much...
