I went out of my way to come here, since they were open until 11, while almost all other Carvels I saw close at 10, which I thought was cool. Came here a week after my birthday, with a coupon good for a free soft serve cone. The coupon was good through 5/6, the day I visited, as the picture shows. The woman behind the counter said that it needed to be my birthday today to get the free cone. I explained to her how that made no sense, because the coupon clearly indicates that it expires today. (Also, I remember redeeming the coupon last year at another Carvel with no such restriction.) She insisted that it had to be my birthday today, and had no real response to my point that the coupon would expire ON my birthday if that was the case. Also, the coupon itself says nothing about how I need to redeem it on my birthday. I didn't get my free cone, let them know that they were wrong, and I'm letting everyone else know that this place obviously doesn't care too much about customer service and, at the very least, the woman I spoke to was completely in denial of the possibility that she could be wrong. I'm a very reasonable, rational person, but there's simply no way she was right. I was disappointed when I witnessed the Manager as she calls herself wearing blue gloves that’s cool but it’s not cool if the blue gloves look dingy yellow in the front of them…. Looked like the blue was faded out. I asked the Manager to change her gloves, the manager stated that the department of health said she doesn’t have to change the gloves while handling money and food all at the same time. So I looked and yes on the website it does state that but it also states that it would be good to change your gloves throughout the day so it doesn’t build up on pathogens which are not good for our health. So I’m guessing since her gloves weren’t designed that way, her gloves had pathogens giving birth to pathogens and those pathogens giving birth to others.
