SuperFresh Baldwin — Local services in Town of Hempstead

AT 3pm on 07/18/2022 I went into this supermarket and purchased some toothpaste at the customer service desk because that is the only place to purchase it. The lady behind the desk who was whispering to another co-worker never acknowledged me until I had to say "excuse me" I then received the toothpaste and asked her to ring it up at which time she said " oh these are not registers" and sent me to the main line to check out. 1) she suppose to be the manager 2) she is doing nothing but sitting in a chair gossiping 3) there were (3) registers and a lotto machine at the customer service desk, so how are these not registers? I was then told by one of the other co-workers that only if you are playing lotto then they will ring that up at the customer service desk not the items behind the counter at the customer service desk, (WHAT), The biggest joke is Super Fresh is paying this manager to do nothing but sit in a chair while everyone else is walking around working. So much for keeping the bar raised high guys. She needs to go and the customer service desk should operate as a "CUSTOMER SERVICE DESK" just as every other...

It's a pretty good store. I grab the seafood from there. They have a good selection of seafood. So I definitely always get some good stuff. The produce seems fresh to. I bought a few things from there and it didn't mold or spoil yet. So that's a plus. Prices are the same as anywhere else. Some weeks are deals and other weeks there aren't any. The oxtail they sale isn't bad either. I brought about 15lbs for Christmas. It was very big pieces. And I like them like that. Definitely will be buying again. The meat itself poultry,beef, sausages, etc. They are fresh to. And they have a nice selection. Going back there again. My only problem is they don't have a self checkout and only 2-3 registers are open at a time. So pick your poison and wait for it to kick...

Why is it in the last few weeks I have 1 green plantain in the bag of 5 turning yellow/sweet but the others stay green? This has happened my last 3 purchases. And I use them with 1-2 days. They are not sitting for 1 week+ . This didn’t starting happening until prices with from 10/$2.00 to 10/$3.00. What’s going on?

The stockers are friendly and super helpful, the cashiers for the most part are courteous. The prices on 80% of the items are overpriced but you are almost guaranteed to find what you’re looking for from atleast 7 different brands.

Navigating the produce isle with your cart is a pain especially at busy times. They could do a better job organizing their chip Isle. 3 separate isles for chips is wild. Anyways always fully...
