Foxx Beauty Supply — Local services in Town of Hempstead

I learned about this beauty supply a few years ago while visiting another that was in the same shopping center. A customer told me that there was a Black beauty supply in the same shopping center. I don't frequent beauty supplies but whenever I need one I go there first and I tell other people about it. It is most important to me to keep this beauty supply growing and flourishing because it is a black business and this beauty supply services mostly all blacks. The owner seems to be a kind and wonderful man. Every one of his staff is so kind. Every time I have been there is always some type of Gospel / Christian music playing. The atmosphere in here is wonderful. Please continue to use this salon and please tell everyone about it. Explain to them how we must support each other even if we have to drive a little further or pay $1 more at times as opposed to let's say Marshalls or something where they think they're getting a better deal. There is no better deal than investing in yourself, meaning investing in yourself your people your culture. To whoever owns this beauty supply please keep up the good work...

I had a horrible experience at this store today. First I felt like I was being followed by the male clerk in which I asked him for an item because he kept appearing in every isle I was in. I asked where was the travel size oil sheen in which they keep in the front cash wrap area. Once I left the store I checked my receipt and realized the travel size can was $4.99 so I went back in the store to see they were selling the larger 15.5 oz can for $3.99 clearly that’s a mistake. I brought the larger one in which there’s a difference of $1.09 I asked the cashier(Jean) if I can just have the money back on my card. She points to the receipt like I’m slow, and says as you can see it’s says no cash refunds. So I’m now forced to pick up another item in which I just wanted to go. I asked her what is here for a $1.09 she’s like ummm… let’s just say she’s very unprofessional, condescending with her responses. It’s way too much competition out here for your customer service not to be top tier especially for black own businesses. I will not be back...

Literally just walked out of the store with my boyfriend with pure disgust. Went in there to purchase a bonnet and was ambushed by what appeared to be top flight security, a heavy set balding salt and pepper hair colored male. He followed us through out the store the entire time watching our every move as if we were stealing. Very insulting to say the least. Even as my boyfriend was paying he kept jumping as if he was expecting my boyfriend to pull something unpleasant out. He asked if we needed help and I loudly and clearly said no but he proceeded to follow still. This is one of the most unpleasant shopping experiences I’ve had in a while and at the hand of my own black people is even more disgusting.
