Went and ordered cheddar cheese on my food as I have an allergy to American cheese. The first time they brought it out it had American i politely sent it back and apologized profusely because I hate being that person, but again I do have an allergy to it. It was obvious it was America by the look, texture, and it was tasted by someone at my table. They then bring it back and the server says I watched them do it it's all cheddar, when you can look at it and see clearly on the potato's is two different cheeses. 1/4 of it is cheddar the other 3/4s is American which in the picture attached you can clearly see not to mention after tasting it you can taste the difference. N which I tasted it myself and now have a very itchy red tongue (luckily my allergy is not severe). They then took my food off but still charged us for the other persons meal, which is okay not a problem but when we went up to speak to the owner who also was ringing us up he rushed us out n wouldn't even give us the to speak (maybe he didn't speak good English) but still it was beyond rude. With the itch of my tongue becoming more frustrating we called in and they then proceeded to tell me it was all cheddar cheese they watched them do it. N argued over n over again luckily my allergy is not severe. N I hate to bring race into it, but from the moment we arrived the looks I got and the way everything was handled n treated n the way the owner and his wife treated and looked that could very well be the biggest issue. My bestfriend who I came there with goes to that diner at least twice a week and brings countless people and even she was questioning the true feelings behind it and has never experienced that type of service there. I am disgusted. When I called all I needed was for them to take some accountability instead they were rude told me I was wrong, yet again you can clearly see in the photo the two different types of cheeses on these. They told me they trust the men working for them and they know it was all cheddar yet again you can clearly see the difference...
Read moreWe went there as they celebrate thier 50 years of being in business. The owner of the diner is very nice, curteous and attentive. Hes 85 years old and he was hustling and bustling helping out bust tables also. Dunno if the long wait is common or just for this week where they have a $5. Menu There was long lines of people outside waiting to be seated. The $5. Menu had burger, meatloaf sandwich, chicken fingers, stack of pancake, chicken salad, blt sandwich. My husband was ordering a couple items on that $5. Menu but the waitress said you are only allowed to order but one per person. So, my hubby picked the burger it came with coleslaw and pickle, hamburger with no fixings. I ordered the chicken fingers because the meatloaf was all gone. I asked the waitress does my chicken finger come with fries? She said no, so I ordered some fries. My fries came out first, so my husband cut his burger in half because my chicken fingers were taking to long. Seems like they didn't understand the waitress handwriting and wasn't prepping my chicken fingers. After I ate the half of my hubby burger my chicken fingers come out, it was extremely over cooked and small. Guess what, there was fries with the order. So the waitress informed us wrong by telling me there was no fries included. Meanwhile my husband ordered another burger which again took forever to come out and this time no coleslaw nor pickle came with it.
We were pressed for time we thought by getting there by 4 ish we be out in time, we got there at 4 20pm got seated at 5:15 and rushed out at 6 10p. With burger in hand to catch our LIduck game, we had tickets.
The owner was attentive to us he even treated each one of us to a piece of his celebration cake.
We definitely will give them another try, since it seems like the amount of people showing up mightve been for the $5. Menu just like we showed up. We will see if it will be better next time By the way they have free dessert treats at the desk of chocolates...
Read moreThe sausage in the window should have said it all. Walking into the place the atmosphere was tense, it was mid morning on a Saturday and the place was crowded with people waiting for a table. Since I'd been fasting for blood work earlier on in the day, I didn't want to wait very long so we went to sit at the counter at the center of the place. There was some scraps left on the counter from it's last occupants so a busboy with a rather mundane attitude, like he didn't want to be here, came over and started cleaning the counter, only to drop the rag he was using. Now, any sensible individual would retire that rag and get a new one, he didn't. The counter extended outward and his half assed cleaning job meant the rag essentially flew tward the back of the counter area, making it hard to grab with the stationary seats in the way. He used his shoe to drag it about a foot or so from under the counter and placed it right back on the counter and continued cleaning. Afterwards he threw our silverware down on the counter, hastily making it's way into the napkin he set out, meaning that there was a good chance that the floor was now on our silverware. After a very nice waitress came over promptly to serve us as we were putting on our coats we said we were leaving and did so. As we left, in the foyer there was a bitten-into sausage sitting in the window, that should have been a warning sign. Overall very unsanitary conditions seen in the 45 or so seconds spent inside but the staff are all nice and I was surprised at how quickly someone came over...
