I have to express my dissatisfaction with the grooming experience my mini dachshund that I had recently by the groomer, Kristen. When I dropped my dog off, I spoke with Kristen, who quoted a price of $91. She did not provide any paperwork or mention any potential add-ons, which left me feeling uneasy, especially since I had booked online with an estimated cost of $65. I agreed to the higher price, assuming it was due to the specific needs of dachshunds. After leaving, I felt there might have been an added package. I tried to call three times to clarify this and to inform her that I wasn’t interested in any additional services, but each attempt went unanswered. When picking up my dog, I discovered that an extra charge had indeed been added. I spoke with a staff member at the grooming desk who was understanding and adjusted the price to $70. However, while I was waiting to finalize the payment, Kristen confronted me LOUDLY in front of other customers, insisting that I had agreed to the $91 charge. Despite my attempts to explain the situation, she was dismissive and rude, even stating that she would mark my account to prevent me from returning for future grooming, and continued to escalate the situation. I was genuinely frightened by her erratic behavior during this confrontation, and I worried she might harm my dog, since I was not allowed to pick him up until the service was paid for. When she finally brought my dog out, I noticed he was without his collar, or leash that I dropped him off with (note: that she did not even put a bandana on him either). She nastily just shoved him into my arms. God forbid he had jumped out of my arms, or hers; he is just a puppy, and this lack of care was alarming.To make matters worse, I realized that my dog's hair did not even look cut; the grooming job was below average at best. This encounter was not only EMBARRASSING but also UNPROFESSIONAL. I felt humiliated in front of other customers and neighbors, and it has left a lasting negative impression of Petco's grooming services.
Thankfully, I spoke with the manager, Deb, who was incredibly understanding and went above and beyond to rectify the situation. Her customer service was excellent and truly appreciated. When we went to go pick him up his haircut was nothing like I had asked. I was told there was some difficulty because my dog was very anxious, so I understand the rough patches between his legs and feet. However I was very disappointed with his face. It was nothing like I had asked. His body and tail were fine but it was just his face that astonished me. I just asked for a simple cleanup, nothing crazy, keep the face fluffy. They cut his hair completely around his face and did a terrible job at that.
Additionally, they didn't give me the bandana which I specifically paid for because they didn't have the one "in season". However, they were nice enough to give me one for next season. I was a little disappointed because they never said anything to me, and wouldn't have accommodated me unless I had asked. There was also some confusion with his leash. I asked at the beginning if they wanted me to take the leash before his appointment, but was told that it was fine, they would take it and put it back on after his grooming appointment. I asked where it was after the appointment and was told they didn't have it, and swore that I had it. It was literally 2 hours ago so I don't know how you could lose or misplace his leash in such a short amount of time. There wasn't that many dogs there to begin with. I kept insisting and they eventually found it in the back.

I absolutely 💯% canceled the last delivery of the big bag, 15oz. Blue Buffalo small bites dry dog food but it arrived anyway! I finally had the chance to carry the huge heavy bag BACK TO THE STORE and they wouldn't take it back! I have had a Pals rewards account for years and have spent a good amount of money with PETCO!!! One of the reasons for repeat delivery is CONVENIENCE and when you receive a shipment incorrectly and you have to LUG it back to the store for the lousy $35. and the inexperienced 18 year old "manager" REFUSES to credit my card back AND WON'T EVEN GIVE STORE CREDIT!!! ANDDD says THE STORES aren't PART of the online PETCO that delivers!! Have you EVER heard such absurdity??? UGH. Well - NATHAN, alleged manager of the Wantagh PETCO - BADDD JOBBB!!!
