Hello, late brunch time! My wife and I decided to stop by this cozy spot for a quick bite, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. We ordered the smoked salmon sandwiches, which sounded delicious on the menu. However, when they arrived, the smoked salmon was a bit over-warmed, to the point where it almost tasted like oven-smoked salmon rather than the delicate, cool smoked salmon we were expecting. The vegetables inside the sandwich were also quite cooked, which made the texture a little softer than we would have preferred. That said, the flavors were still good--it just felt like the sandwich could have used a slightly shorter warm-up time to preserve the freshness of the ingredients. On the brighter side, the rest of the meal was enjoyable. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the service was friendly and attentive. We also decided to try their pistachio cream croissant, and oh my--it was absolutely amazing! The croissant was perfectly flaky, and the pistachio cream was rich, smooth, and just the right amount of sweetness. It was definitely the highlight of our visit. Overall, while the smoked salmon sandwich had a few hiccups, the experience was still positive, and we'll definitely stop by again, especially for that pistachio cream croissant! Looking forward to trying more items on the menu next time.

Delicious baked goods and sandwiches for lunchtime, coffee is out of this world, but today a little gesture really made me fall in love with this place. Came in around 11am on Tuesday 6/3 to study. I got a cold brew with mocha, a chicken avocado sandwich, and a little Nutella beignet for study fuel. 20 minutes in, a man came around with a big tray (who was dressed up so I presume he was the owner) and brought out mini fresh baked cookies for all the people inside. It’s those small touches that really make a place (even if it’s a chain) feel like a local family-owned place. The service is always fast and efficient. There was a very snooty bratty teenage girl (customer) in front of me who was condescending to the girl behind the counter, but she handled it with such grace and professionalism (where most would not!) This is a great place and I bring any LI visitors here all the time! :)

I recently visited French Workshop Bakery Cafe in Long Island, New York, to meet a friend and was thoroughly impressed. The cafe was clean and welcoming, with a friendly and attentive staff that made the experience even better. I enjoyed their iced coffee, which was perfectly brewed, and paired it with a Laba cake that was simply delicious. The combination was delightful, and I appreciated the high quality of both the food and the service. French Workshop Bakery Cafe is definitely a spot I would recommend to anyone looking for a great place to relax and enjoy some excellent pastries and coffee.

I am going to start this review with saying that I have always had a positive experience at this location. The staff were fine and the food and coffee were good. However, today I am so appalled by my visit. I never write reviews but this experience was so baffling that I feel it is important to share. There was a woman with glasses, who was very nice handling the pastries section and I watched her thoughtfully change her gloves between guests, and I want to thank her for doing her job. As for the other three women on shift, do better! The place wasn't busy and all other guests were helped, so the only order to be done was my coffee. Instead of making it, the three women started to talk and share a bag of chips. While one woman was playing with a candy in her mouth, the other two younger girls were eating chips. I watched one girl put her fingers in her mouth to eat and the other suck the seasoning off her fingers. When they noticed I was waiting, one of the young girls started to make my coffee. I watched her make it mostly with her gloved hand, so I wasn't going to make a comment. However, when it came to putting the top on the coffee I stopped her because she was using her ungloved hand that I just watched go in her mouth. I told her I will put the top on if she shows me where they are, as I just watched her eat and not wash her hands. She looked so unphased about the whole thing, like she did nothing wrong. I am so disgusted and I won't be going back. We just had a global pandemic and while I might not have a compromised immune system, there are plenty of people who do. Nevertheless, no one wants to consume something that was handled by someone's salvia fingers.

Update* I am beyond annoyed, as I just saw that I was doubled charged...

Update : I have been to this place dozens of times at least and I get the salmon a lot. Tonight the salmon tasted like it sat in a fridge for too many days and took on the flavor of everything in there with it. They need to take better care of that and I hope I don’t experience that again or I will stop going there. The salmon should be better protected and thrown out if it gets old. I’m happy this place is in my neighborhood but I will have to stop going if I feel the quality starts slipping to maximize profits. If it’s getting old it must go in the garbage. Period. I will also share my experience with my friends and get their opinion. Sorry

Been to the Bayside and Plainview French Workshops and they are excellent!!! The baking section is all glass and super clean and watching the baked goods getting created is great and will inspire future chefs. The sandwiches and pastries and coffee and other stuff are all really really good!

I’ve gone to FW with my wife for years and was very happy when we heard we were getting one in Wantagh !

Should be a great addition to Wantagh culinary businesses we have already. Snaps is another place that’s not new but is a step above. Uncle Franks wood fired pizza and cocktails seems great!! That’s on my short list!!!

All awesome additions to the commercial businesses in Wantagh. Hope the great places keep coming and we will do our share of keeping ALL our local businesses nice and busy which is also great for our...

HORRIBLE ATMOSPHERE AT THE REGISTER. Here’s the thing, we all love the French Workshop in my family. We consistently buy our pastries, cakes, sandwiches, cookies, coffee etc. from 2 locations. The first being on Seventh Street in Garden City and the second in Wantagh. Yesterday we went into the Wantagh location and we were at the register getting ready to pay our 50 something Dollar bill. I inserted my credit card, tat the resister and this young bratty girl behind the register said very loudly.” Before you hit pay, and put your reward number in it’s going to ask you if you want to leave a tip”, I said it’s not saying that, she replied “we’ll do you want to leave a tip?” Again very loud and with an attitude. I said “No” , she sucked her teeth and basically rushed us away from the register to take the next customer. But why? It’s your job to ring me up, just like it was the other employees job to put my purchase in a box. That’s what you get paid to do. I’m so against these establishments asking for tips for the employees for just doing a simple task. I’m not in a restaurant, I’m in bakery. I don’t tip the cashiers at Stop and Shop for ringing up my food! This is getting ludicrous already. Please ask your Employer to pay you a fair wage and don’t put us consumers in a position to feel awkward at payout I’d we don’t leave a tip -especially that little bratty girl at the...
