DOLCE CAFE — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Ordered 2 pieces of cake, 2 cannolis, and 2 cookies for guests. The food was delivered (priority) via Uber. Opened the bag and it wreaked of cologne and cigarettes. Hoping it was the driver, we opened up the plastic containers the pieces of cake were in and the FOOD tasted as the bag smelled, thus not the driver. What the actual F? a) people still SMOKE cigarettes? b) that cologne expired in 1979. Sometimes I feel like I am being punked. The worst, because I uber-ed it - I am not entitled to the $48 I spent back on food that I instantly discarded. We got a coffee and a hot chocolate as well, which I threw out without even tasting because I am nauseated by this experience. Thank you. Terrible service.

I’ve stopped in before to get a cup of coffee but they do not offer non dairy milks so I could not purchase because of dairy allergy. That’s fine, just can not be a customer here. I’m back one year later on a freezing cold winter day getting an oil change next door with no where to sit down and wait but this cafe. I walked in to sit down with a coffee I have from starbucks, tried to find something to purchase but there is nothing there to accomodate my allergy. Only options were packaged croissants, alcohol and coffee. I told her my situation she rudely asked me to leave because I’m not a customer. Standing outside across the street on a freezing windy day....

I gave an extra star based off of the first couple of times I came here with my son to get ice cream. Way overpriced and not the best ice cream but service was very very sweet. Five dollars plus tax for a baby scoop of ice cream. I understand inflation but this is astronomical… Especially if it tastes bad. I would have left four stars for service at that point, one for actual ice cream. Went there this morning for coffee and service was awful. Girl working seemed annoyed that I was bothering her By ordering anything and Didn’t even know what they had. Coffee is absolutely terrible. Also overpriced. Would not go back after...
