Häagen-Dazs — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

The ice cream is delicious! And the shop is a pleasant space. But the service was pretty bad. A surly young woman waited on my father and me. She took our order and then served my father a very skimpy regular cup. She weighed the cup, and handed it to me. I could see that the text on the scale said "regular=9oz", so I set the cup back on the scale and saw that it was just over 7oz. I pointed out the mistake, and the woman said "regular is 8oz", but another employee corrected her and confirmed that it should be 9. So, she sullenly added a tiny bit more and reweighed it. We had to repeat this 3 times to get the correct amount of ice cream. Then she served my small cup, which should have been 6 oz, and was about 5.5, but I was tired of arguing so I didn't protest. (The whole weighing of ice cream feels very stingy, but if they are going to insist on weighing, they should at least follow their own rules!) Always went to the Haagen daz in fresh meadows but never again! The employees at FP are very friendly and always encourages you to try a new flavor when you’re indecisive. The space is very clean, modern and well lit. They have plenty of seating and a seating bar in front in case you like you people watch while enjoying your ice cream.

I came in to order 3 large cakes for an event and they exceeded my expectations. I called earlier to inquiry about it and when I went into the store to place the order days later, Nirav, the manager remembered me and happily helped me through with the order. Pick up was flawless and their suggestion of when to defrost the cake was perfect. Everyone loved our flavor combinations and for the first time ever, there were no leftovers! A solid new Haagen-Dazs location, serving up super creamy and delicious ice cream in a sleek and clean shop.

While I usually prefer locally owned spots over chains (edited to add: I just found out that the franchise location is locally owned so that’s a plus!), I figured I’d give this new location a shot, and I’m glad I did! The place is spacious and spotless, with a team of friendly local kids serving up smiles and scoops. There’s a standing counter up front and some tables and chairs further back.
