Hamza & Madina Halal Food Bellmore — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

Didn’t know they’re now franchises which means owners don’t have to follow Hamza & Medina rules for ingredients composing each meal item - or do they? Thus, the cook or owner adds the totally WRONG ingredients- example, falafel Everywhere in the world I’ve had it gets TAHINI sauce over it. Not Here- white sauce is used instead UNAUTHENTICALLY altering the right traditional TASTE! Also, I was told Owner doesn’t use GARLIC in his white sauce which alters it entirely because GARLIC is the ESSENTIAL ingredient. Every grocery where you buy it even labels it’s containers “White Garlic” sauce - making Bellmore’s tasteless instead of enhancing the meal item. Also, instead of watching falafel balls or kofta being freshly made and fried, they must be frozen in advance because they’re hard, FLAT and not BALLS. Their chicken pieces were soft, but sorry to say Lamb was not and had no taste of lamb. How can they not make a TZADZIKI sauce that automatically goes with the lamb like peanut butter and jelly combination??? What were they using instead to save money in place of real lamb? You can’t fool people, certainly not food critics and chefs! Obviously, I won’t be returning to THIS location ever. The food truck in Hicksville was absolutely my FAVORITE authentic Middle Eastern menu with EVERY authentic and FLAVORFUL tasty bite plus friendly made to order service - line around the block til 2 am GREAT...

Let me start by saying that I am not one to write reviews. I had been going to the Hicksville location for years, to find that it was shut down, presumably from health code violations, which was a surprise to us. Living close to Bellmore, we were happy that one was opening in a closer location. In my mind, this place was a 5/5 for what we are used to. There are not many good halal places locally, so this was great news. The reason I am giving one star, is because we found multiple nail clippings in our chicken and rice, only validating the reason for the Hicksville location closure. At first, I thought it was a hard piece of rice, but after removing it from my mouth and looking at it on a napkin, there was no question. I am nauseated as I write this, and it really is unfortunate. ordered a pick up and got there 30 mins after to pick it up, wasn’t ready. So I said I’ll wait. The guy literally skips my order to serve to other customer who just walked in placed an order got their food and left. I got mad and confronted him about it. He said oh he was sorry and he thought I was an uber driver picking up a customers food. I told him to get my order ready still took him 20 more minutes. He finally makes my order (mind you I literally had to fight him all they way through my order to get what I want) than refuses to give me sauce if I don’t pay when over the phone he told me it was free.
