Today was our 1st time at Jersey Mike's, thanks to a friend giving us a free sub certificate! What a pleasant surprise, exactly in this area where all the places serve below par food. The 1st thing I noticed where the bright red ripe tomatoes, and all the cold cuts in a deli case which are sliced fresh to each order! I ordered a medium sized sub of rare roast beef, provolone, salami, tomato, mayo & some pickles; the roast beef was rare as I wanted and fresh with no additives and delicious, provolone was missing the sharp bite I prefer, good salami, tomatoes excellent, good quality mayo and really nice fresh pickles. My friend ordered the Philly cheese steak, sliced fresh & cooked on the grill. We're both fussy about the quality of our food, it's ingredients & the care of the preparation that goes into it, and this place is to be congratulated, we couldn't stop talking about how delicious our sandwiches were and filling as well, no being cheap on the meat here. Also pleasing where the three staff associates, who were genuinely warm and attentive, also to mention very efficient, not one customer had to wait considering the care that goes into the prep work, impressive system. PS One note to Jersey Mike's; Make sure your bread is as good as what goes on it! Good bread is very important for your quality product, every day/all day; as my selection was not so fresh but my companions selection of bread was. You also don't offer a selection on the menu or verbally, I had to ask. Someone asked for there bread to be toasted and you told them you had no toaster, but you could have done so on your grill for them. One thing that is missing are some fresh sides of cold slaw and potato salad that would complete the menu experience! Great for a gathering at home or a day at the beach, but would have to make another stop at another store for the sides. Something to consider. ...
Read moreI don't like to write bad reviews, but we had such a bad experience yesterday that I wanted to warn others. We walked in around 2pm and there were 2 people working behind the counter, but what looked like at least a dozen bags for online orders. The employees seemed overwhelmed, and I was wondering if we were going to have to wait a while for our food. We had to wait a few minutes for them to take our order, and when they were making our 2 sandwiches, they were also trying to make a bunch of the online orders at the same time. The 2nd person on the line seemed confused as to what to do. While this was happening person after person started showing up to pick up their online orders, and none were ready. We went to pay for our food, and the person rang us up for $36 for 2 mini sandwiches with chips and a drink - luckily I caught that just before my husband tapped his card.
After we paid, I noticed 1 employee sitting at a table on break, and another sitting in the back area. How do you have 2 people (half your staff) on break at the same time? We finally sit down with our sandwiches and they were terrible. I had wheat bread and my husband had white bread, and they were both stale. The 3 very thin slices of meat and 2 very thin slices of cheese had zero flavor, so we basically felt like all we ate was bread. All in all a very poor experience. This is what happens when you sell out to...
Read moreEvery time I go into this one location I have to ask myself if everything is alright regarding the staff. Usually not more than two customers in the store at the time I come to get a sandwich, sometimes there’s only one other customer in the entire store. Takes the staff sometimes up to 10 minutes to realize that someone else has walked in. Communication needs to be fixed, I ask for my toppings and the girl serving me looks at me like I’m speaking a different language. She goes to wrap up my sandwich and I have to tell her that she missed half my toppings even after I told her three times. At times one person will be doing majority of the work and the rest stand around staring into space. Last time my boyfriend and I went we had to hold ourselves back from laughing because the staff told the man being served after us that they had no hero bread left and therefore could not make his sandwich. How do you have no hero bread, you are a sandwich shop. Never in my life have I seen a group of what it looks like full grown adults unable to handle more than two customers at once or multiple customers with so many mistakes regarding...
