We came in on a Sunday about 8:40, well before the listed 9:30 closing time, and were warned as we came in that they actually close at 9:20. It seemed odd that it would be an issue with plenty of time to order; but apparently unlike most restaurants the closing time is a matter of when they expect you to actually leave.
Still, with seemingly enough time, we ordered, and the appetizer - soft shell crab - came quickly. Unfortunately, though it was not one of the dishes listed as āspicyā, it came with spicy mayo on top. I told the server that I canāt eat spicy food, would not have ordered it if I had known, and asked her to take it back. She gave me an argument, saying I should have told her I canāt eat spicy food. I pointed out that since they list some dishes specifically as spicy, one would assume - as in most other restaurants - that the rest are not. She reluctantly took it back, and informed us the Angel Roll we had ordered, also not labeled spicy, came with spicy mayo on top as well, so we also asked for that to be redone.
This pushed things closer to closing time, and rushed our meal a bit. But I have to say that the food was wonderful: The crab crisp outside, moist inside; the sushi fresh, and the pineapple shrimp fried rice delicious.
So despite the unfortunate attitude we encountered, this restaurant is well worth the trip for the excellent food. Just keep in mind that the closing time is not whatās listed on the website. And that itās best, whatever the menu says, to ask details...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreUsually for lunch I don't do anything that fancy. This time my friend and I decided to go for a more exotic experience. Yuzu is what we landed on. This place delivered us a great meal for a reasonable price. For $9.50 you can get what they call a bento box. Which comes with a miso soup, a salad, shumai and white rice to go with your main dish. I went with the chicken katsu lunch box myself and my friend order a chicken teriyaki dish. It was very good, portioned well, was a pleasant display and wasn't greasy at all. The whole experience was fast it took us about 30 mins to sit down, eat, pay and leave. Very good service and polite staff. I would certainly come back here for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe restaurant looks old from the outside. Seating was okay. There are no booths (its harder for one of my kids to sit on a chair). The waitress was patient with my kids. We had rock shrimp and gyoza appetizers which were tasty. Kids had cali rolls. Husband had a spider roll. However, I ordered one of the lobster rolls with tuna on top (i forgot the name of the roll), but although the tail was sticking out there was NO lobster in the roll.. just the tempura batter. Even the waitress agreed and said that was strange. She took it back to bring another but by the time that was made and brought out I was over it and we left. Probably...
