This restaurant has a manager who is combative, arrogant, obnoxious, and belligerent. The servers are the worse servers I have experienced in my life. There is an air of bigotry against non-Dominicans. I can't blame the restaurant, just the people who run it and work there. My husband and I were on our way home from a doctor's appointment, We wanted Spanish food and drove by Mi Casa, and decided to stop in. BIG MISTAKE! We were seated. There was one family already at a booth. ONE!! A server gave us a menu, she returned with bread and took our orders, appetizer included. I ordered a Presidente beer; my husband ordered a Coke. We did not get water like the other patrons. Meanwhile, there are four women at the bar gossiping. It took fifteen minutes to get the drinks. The clock is ticking. It is now fifteen minutes later, and no appetizer. Another family had entered and sat on the other side of the first family. They received their water, appetizers and meal. A group of young ladies arrived and sat behind us. They were given water and bread, and their appetizers were brought to them. They got their order. We are still waiting for water and the appetizer. It is now forty minutes since sitting. I asked where our appetizers and food were. The server became defensive and said we did not order appetizers. Two or her servers came to her defense. I asked for the manager. This woman has no business working with the public. She became combative and belligerent. It's too long a story to continue. We did not pay for the beer or Coke. I finally walked out of the restaurant. As we were leaving, the food arrived—fifty-five minutes from sitting. Outrageous! NEVER EVER will I go back there? If you are not Dominican, find another Dominican restaurant that is not biased. If I could give them no stars, I would. The owner needs to...
Read moreWe’ve always ordered takeout from this Dominican restaurant because the food tastes great, and we’ve never had complaints. But this was our first time dining in—and unfortunately, it was a letdown.
I ordered the stuffed lobster with fish and shrimp. Before ordering, I asked the server if it included actual lobster meat or just the shell. She said it would be split and stuffed with the meat inside. When I got the plate, I ate it—only to realize there was no lobster meat at all. We let the server know, and she told the manager, but the manager never even came to our table or acknowledged the issue. Yet we were still charged $42 for it.
My wife ordered mofongo with chicken, but the chicken came out super hard. By the time the waitress offered to remake it, we were already ready to leave, and my wife didn’t want it anymore.
The waitress was kind, checked on us, and was very apologetic. But management’s lack of accountability and response was disappointing. It really changed how we see this place, especially after being loyal...
Read moreIn the last 5 years of me frequenting this establishment what a sad shame and end of an era for myself. Such disservice that their manager John (I think is his name) is such a nice guy. But when he is not on location the women servers patrons and bartenders are very rude, not attentive and mess up your orders consistently. Some are even a bit prejudice and give nasty looks and sly comments as well. They give off an impression as if they are superior to the customer it’s crazy, and at the same time they seem to be highly unskilled with no basic customer service training. Beyond all of this, to have such prejudice Dominican pride, it doesn’t translate into good meals all the time either. And the rice is always dry and hard, I’ve gone lengths of even getting my snapper from mi Casa with no sides, then I drive cross town to uniondale Dominican restaurant (much better food and people) to get my rice and beans. At this point uniondale Dominican is my go to place and i recommend everyone give it a try over this shameful...
