El Sabor Dominicano — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I went to el sabor this morning around 11am for lunch. The young lady that had her hair up in a bun was not very welcoming or helpful. I had asked her what they had on the menu for lunch and she gave me a lot of attitude. I would have understood had I been aggressive with her or mean, but I just asked normally. I had to ask her several times because she wasn’t as responsive. I then decided that I would stay to eat there instead of taking the food out. She seemed really upset at this. I asked her for a glass of water and she just brought me a bottle. At that point, I didn’t even bother correcting her because I was nervous that she would have an angry outburst and I did not want the bad energy. The food lacked flavor, the pollo al orno was very very dry. I honestly wouldn’t have even giving a rating at all if it wasn’t because her behavior was uncalled for. I have worked in the restaurant business for a long time, and people like that should not be waiters. Your problems should stay at the door when you come in to work. The customers should not have to deal with your own personal issues. The decor is really nice at the very least. There are other much better Dominican spots in Freeport that I would...

I’m honestly disappointed. I came here about two times before this last visit. The food last time was okay.. thinking of where I wanted to eat with my kids I gave it another shot. I asked the server that I needed a high chair for my son who is one, she said all of them were being used which I assume they only have two because only two other kids were using them. After those customers left the waitress never asked me if I needed it still so feeding my sons and myself with all the mess he had been making was just so annoying I lost my appetite. I also asked for a bowl for my son to eat in because he would make a mess she asked are you sure that ones not okay? I said no And she never got it for me. I asked for waters she gave me two adult cups with no straws, and never got my drink. The chicharrón de pollo tasted like it had no seasoning at all. I literally took two bites of my food and When leaving she asked if I wanted to take it because I had boxed my kids food to go which was also pretty bland and I said no It wasn’t to my tasting on how I know Dominican food should taste and she says “oh I wish you would have told me earlier” and still charged me for it. I will never come back. Wasted my time and $$$...

I came to pick up an order and the waitress speaks to me in a flirtatious way calling me my love and papi and she was talking and smiling to me and looking at me which was disrespectful to my wife and my wife told her that I am a married man and you don’t talk like that to my husband because he is not some single guy looking to grab a beer and flirt with the waitress instead of apologizing and saying I did not know he was married she called my wife a insecure clown so I got upset and told her that no one calls my wife a clown and that no one is going to disrespect my wife like that so she says stayed quiet then when I started saying how she can’t treat her customers like that she says don’t come here again.

There is a very disrespectful attitude and service given here where the woman waiter did not respect me...
