I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the service I witnessed at your Taco Bell location at 215 W Merrick Rd, Freeport, NY 11520, on 06/23/2024- 3:40pm.
Upon entering the restaurant, I observed an older gentleman of white descent approach the cashier to place an order. The cashier, however, instructed him to use the self-service kiosks. When the customer explained that he was unfamiliar with the kiosks and requested assistance, the employee seemed visibly annoyed but eventually agreed to take the order manually.
This situation raises several concerns:
1- Customer Service: The primary role of your employees is to assist customers and ensure a pleasant experience. If a customer requests to place an order directly, especially if they are not comfortable using the kiosks, the cashier should accommodate this without hesitation or displaying frustration.
The situation escalated when the older gentleman asked the employee for his name. The cashier refused to provide it. Another customer then intervened, suggesting that asking for the employee’s name was Racist. This additional customer seemed to misunderstand the intent behind the request for a name.
It is essential to clarify that the older gentleman was simply seeking a name for reference, not to cause any harm or discomfort. It's troubling to see such a situation escalate unnecessarily, especially when the focus should be on providing good customer service.
It is concerning that the employee was unwilling to provide basic assistance and that a simple request for a name was met with resistance and misinterpretation. This situation could have been easily resolved with proper customer service. Employees should be ready to assist customers, especially those who may have difficulty using new technology, and should handle requests for their name professionally.
2- Racial Accusations: The older gentleman’s request for the employee’s name was in no way racially motivated. It is troubling that a request for a name could be misconstrued as racism. This incident not only undermines the integrity of genuine complaints of racism but also creates an uncomfortable environment for customers.
Overall, the behavior of the cashier was unprofessional and contrary to the standards of customer service that I expect from Taco Bell. It is important for employees to treat all customers with respect and handle all interactions professionally, regardless of the customer's familiarity with ordering technology or any other factor.
I hope you take this matter seriously and ensure that your employees are properly trained in customer service and handling diverse customer interactions respectfully. This incident has negatively impacted my perception of your establishment, and I urge you to address it to prevent similar occurrences...
Read moreI went there today 6/17 @4:00 pm I used the machine to order paid for my food there was one other person in front of me waiting, then another man came in ordered his food and went to the bathroom. Then this happened three people came in they we’re together and apparently knew the lady that was working there. She was making food when I came in then she stopped to assist the three that came in together.
Next thing I knew she (the worker) was telling her friends to go to the next counter to get their drinks then she gave them bags with their food in it and they left.
The two others and myself stood there looking at each other like how does that happen. That is so unprofessional, rude and disrespectful. I asked for a refund because that should have never happen. I’ll never go to Freeport...
