This review is strictly about the customer service! I came in @ 3 pm on 9/18/25. I walked in and the very young man was sitting behind the counter. I have no problem with him sitting down. I said hello when I approached the counter because I didn't see anyone. He didn't respond, I said hello a second time as he stood up. No response. At this point I am trying to figure out his cognitive process. I spoke a third time and he stood there (as if he was waiting for me to move to the next subject of ordering) and I stared at him. He finally spoke. I was just about to turn around a walk out.
For one, youre not in the street where I won't need to engage you and you won't need to speak. Second , you're in a business were you MUST engage with whoever enters the establishment. It's called customer service, he's representing NOLAN'S CUISINE & CATERING. If " We" as supporters are going to be treated as less than human in this shop I'd rather not come here. YARDIES is down the street and I know from experience YARDIES provide excellent customer service with excellent engagement and interaction with laughs.
At the end of the transaction he kept my change and said have a nice day. It was only 0.02 cents. I quoted the price and he said that he didn't have change. I told him that he needs to relay that to the customer.
There should be immediate customer service training because he's not going to work at NOLAN'S all of his life. This is his training grounds. I'm not complaining about the two pennies, I could care less. I just want him to get the proper training for the world so that he can excell in any craft especially if he is going to work in a field that causes him to interact with human beings! I wish him well with his future endeavors! 💪🏾
The beef patty was very tasty, that's the main reason I came in. The other reason is because I dealt with the morning crew and the chef went out of his way to tell me that I can get breakfast all day. The chef related a message that resignated deeply as to say, you are my customer. Today the service was poor which affected the atmosphere which also told me that this young man had better places to be and he wouldn't care if I stayed or walked out.
I apologize for my deep analysis of today's visit but I do that often and I actually walked out of an Indian food establishment regardless of how hungry I was. I'm not spending my money and pay...
Read moreAs with everything new, it appears nice. However, these people neglected to post prices with their menu, which is clearly posted on the wall! This means that they can charge customers anything that they choose on any given day. I asked the 2 ladies at the register, the price of a dish and they had to refer to a cook???
WHY AREN’T THE PRICES FOR ITEMS POSTED ON THE WALL ALONG SIDE THE MENU OR EVEN ON A PRINTED MENU THAT THEY NEGLECTED TO HAVE????
Besides that, the food isn’t extraordinarily above many other restaurants. Jamaican Flavors on Springfield is better to me! Also, why is it that we set prices so high that it feels like you are robbing our own community for common food? They only sell one size “Rasta Pasta” and the price for that is unreasonably high! C’mon $20 something dollars for pasta, Really????
We truly need to get it together as business owners and come correct to the people that we service. FOR WITHOUT US, THERE IS NO YOU!!!!
Be reasonable with your customer base and try different marketing strategies to garner our interest. Try specials and do things that your competitors aren’t doing to gain and keep our interest. Not hit us in the pockets for take out, as if we went to a 4 star dine in establishment!!!! Spending over $60 dollars for 3 small plates of food, without beverages is truly...
Read moreI tried this spot for the first time and its a cute clean looking spot and the young man who assisted was pleasant. They was playing Haitian music which is always a plus. I tried the rice and peas with stewed chicken/cabbage and macaroni and cheese. The stewed chicken was not stewed it was barbequed. The macaroni was not flavorful at all. I noticed the food was not covered, which was another turn off. I had the crémas ice cream. It was giving rum raisin without the raisins. Its a nice flavored ice cream with fresh lime throughout. I did not care for the little pieces of nutmeg that I was biting into, but the flavor was good to have. It also had solid pieces of what I think was coconut cream that was not well incorporated with the cream. When you bit into it, it tastes like hardened lard and that was not pleasant. I wanted so much to love it but those issues made it a no for me. I hope them much success as they look into the critique's...
