Pollo Campero — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

I have been a loyal customer of the West Hempstead and Huntington locations, consistently leaving satisfied with the service and quality. Naturally, I was thrilled to see a location open near me. However, my experience last night was disappointing.

I placed my usual order through the app, where it’s typically brought to my car upon arrival. Since I didn’t see a designated pickup parking area, I proceeded to the drive-through. While the employee who greeted me was kind, they seemed confused when I asked for my drink. Upon driving away, I realized my order was missing cutlery and plates, which I had specifically requested in the app.

When I went inside to address the issue, the manager promptly apologized, provided the missing items, and added two extra pieces of fried chicken as compensation. Unfortunately, when I got home, I noticed that my request for legs and thighs only had been ignored, and the chicken was dry and not fresh. It was an unpleasant experience overall.

While I will continue to visit the West Hempstead and Huntington locations, I strongly recommend that corporate consider sending employees from this location for training at these well-run branches. It’s disappointing to see poor reviews accumulate in such...

WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD!!!! as an 80's baby born in Guatemala Pollo Campero has always been a staple in our household. Every trip to our homeland is not complete without the traditional Pollo Campero box along with our carry-on. I'm so happy that they have opened up a location 5 min away from me. PLEASE go check them out, I love the accessibility of this location. You can dine in or takeout with their drive-thru option if you're in a rush. I've NEVER had Pollo Campero that actually tastes as good as it does in Guatemala. The service is excellent the chicken is fresh, tasty, well seasoned, & cooked to perfection, I'm also pleased that they have Horchata & Rosa de Jamaica as drink options. You will definitely enjoy the food, drinks, atmosphere & accessibility. For my fellow Guatemalans you will actually feel like you're back home! I absolutely love the location but, most importantly, the taste of our homeland in every piece...

I ordered a two piece w/ yuca fries. The cashier was cleaning the store. She acknowledged me told me to tell her when I was ready, I did.

However, she took the order and she packed it also. I wasn’t paying g enough attention, but I don’t think she eve changed her gloves or washed her hands. Come on you were cleaning the tables and floors. I couldn’t say anything.

I get home and here’s where the problem comes in. I sat down to eat my food a chicken leg and thigh. That’s when I realized she gave me cold hard regular fries, I couldn’t chew them, I ordered yuca fries. Then I eat the leg, it’s ok. Luke warm but not dried out.

Then I pick up the thigh, OMG it’s wet on the bottom with what looks like uncooked flour. I break it open with a fork, it’s pink on the inside. It’s not even cooked all the way through. This place use to have the best chicken. NEVER AGAIN. I WASTED MY GAS AND MONEY....
