Stumbled on Reisterer's by chance. Passing by, was intrigued by the extra-wide storefront. Are they really there, or is is this just space grab? Turned out, this place has 94 years' historical import. And, it shows in the a affinal interactions we saw with every patron (of course excluding us). Their assortment and quantity of off-shelf dairy/dairy-free cookies is mind boggling. Surely must be selling all of it (that's where 94 years' muscle memory whacks new age data modeling!). And that's the lesser part of expansive display. Cakes - for all occasions, and no occasion - appear to be the mainstay. Fair selection of celebratory stationary complements the stuff behind glass displays running from end-to-end. Coffee dispensers (hot and iced) are just there. More for those desperate to get a caffeine fix, than as a competing revenue stream. Seating for 25, including on the counter, also appeared to be just there; reflecting changes in consumer preference. 'Nostalgia Wall', with photos from each decade, stood out as a beacon of history and tradition. How we wish they made it more of a cynosure (hardly any additions in last 7-8 years) with proper framing, protecting from the onset of weathering. To us, store fixtures and floor looked like on the verge of obsolescence. Time for a reboot. That is, with renovation finances and stringent requirements of Kashrus certification permitting.

Designing a cake exactly how you want it to appear for those fun birthdays to represent the personality of the birthday boys or girls is always fun. Tom is great at designing and giving you what you want. He cares about making sure it looks good even if its a last minute cake (which I recommend giving a few days or a week or 2 at least in advance) but it's the taste that takes it to the next level. Never disappointed weather it's vanilla or chocolate mousse, cannoli, whipped cream with or without strawberries or pineapple, or anything you like. I have tried them all and they are all delicious. The hamburger cake is only done during memorial day or July 4th for those BBQ outings. They also have a hot dog and sandwich sub hero cake. place an order for those as they go quick. They look real and taste delicious. Once you enter the bakery you will not be able to stop so bring a friend to help you carry some dessert. The cookies, donuts, éclaire, fruit cups, croissants (stuffed or not) cupcakes, cake pops, pies, chocolate, breads, muffins and so much more will add to make any event extra special. I highly recommend their bakery for all those dessert needs. special occasions or every day events. Everything on theses cakes were edible (No one wanted to eat the boy on the bed, just felt out of place. LOL)

It's a shame that I have to write this because generally their products are top notch, but service has always been iffy and now that they are accepting online orders it's been amplified a lot. I'm a long-time customer and I've always gone into the store in person. They make a lot of mistakes that I catch, like grabbing the wrong item even though I just clearly stated the one I wanted, or forgetting to hand me something I just paid for if it's a large order. Well, yesterday I tried ordering online via DoorDash, and guess what? Without me there to intervene, the mistakes happened. I placed an order for two items: 1 pound of rainbow cookies, and 1 pound of brownies with no nuts. My order arrived and the rainbow cookies weren't there! So, off the bat half the order was missing. Then I open up the brownies to serve to my company (I ordered this as a treat for some company I had over). We bite into them, and they have nuts! Luckily none of us were allergic, we just don't like them, but this could have been a HUGE safety issue! Nut allergies are serious. So next, I reported the issue to DoorDash and they gave me the option to re-place the order at no cost. I did so. The dasher arrives at Reister's and is waiting there for almost 10 minutes. I then get a call from Reister's asking if my order was a duplicate. I said no and let them know what happened, and they said, "Oh, okay because your driver has been waiting here for a long time and we thought it was an invalid order." What? Why not call me right away. It sounds like they were arguing with the driver and they finally called me because the driver (rightfully so) would not give up. So, then another 10 minutes pass and my order is cancelled. I call them up, pretty furious, and they said they had to cancel because they were out of the brownies. The issue is they cancelled the free replacement order. So now I've still paid for the first order which was not fulfilled in any way, and I have nothing to show for it except for incorrect brownies. I ask if they can simply send over 2 pounds of rainbow cookies, then. They tell me no, because they'd need a new order and that I'd have to go through DoorDash, and that they already sent the driver away. What a disappointing answer. You made the mistake, so maybe the manager gets in the car and hand delivers it with an apology? Maybe do ANYTHING except for saying it's not your problem. And at this point I can't report the issue on DoorDash again to get a refund because the system sees that it's already been addressed by placing a new order (which was cancelled). So, I had to call them up, speak to a rep, and then finally get a credit to place a new order. Then I place a new order for just 2 pounds of rainbow cookies. It finally gets delivered, but it's now an hour and a half after I placed that very first order. By that time, half my company had left and the whole thing was a moot point. This was an...

I ordered a cake from this bakery about a week in advance for my boyfriends birthday. I ordered a funfetti cake with vanilla butter cream frosting and a special decoration on the outside to go with the theme of the party. We picked it up the day of the party and it looked absolutely beautiful and it was just what I ordered. Later on in the day, when it came time to eat the cake, I realized this was not at all the cake I had ordered. It was NOT funfetti cake, but instead it was lemon cake that looked like they had just tossed funfetti sprinkles in the frosting. This was of course disappointing, as it was not what I ordered and no one at the party liked/wanted lemon cake. My boyfriend tried not to let it bother him and I put more than half of the cake aside so I could bring it back. The next morning, I called the bakery and explained the situation to them and they told me to bring the cake in and I would be refunded- they did not indicate that it would be any sort of issue. I drove over 30 minutes to bring the cake back and when I showed them the cake, the man I spoke to was extremely rude and tried to tell me that the FUNFETTI cake I ordered was supposed to have a “hint” of lemon flavor in it- that they use multiple flavors and it was intentional, and could have been from the decorations that were on top of the cake. First of all, this was not a HINT of lemon. This was full blown lemon cake. So much so, that people were assuming I actually ordered a lemon cake. Second of all, I have ordered funfetti cakes and cupcakes from numerous bakeries in the past, and made funfetti cakes myself, and I have NEVER had any that even slightly had any hint of lemon in it, no matter what design i wanted on top (shout out Dortoni- best funfetti cake). When I explained this, the man then offered to give me $50 store credit. To which I said no, I would like a refund. He argued with me for a bit but eventually gave me my money back and told me “don’t ever come back here again”. (Although he sure wanted me back there 30 seconds earlier when he was prepared to offer store credit) I am still in shock that he spoke to a customer like that!!! I wasn’t planning on going back there anyway, obviously, but I still cannot believe the way I was treated by them when it was THEIR mistake in the first place. So, so unprofessional to say the least. I wasn’t even going to leave a negative review- I just wanted my money back since I paid $85 for a cake I did not order, nor did we even like it- like I said, over half was still left, it’s not like I went back there with a tiny sliver of cake. But when I was told to never come back ever again, instead of receiving an apology that they completely messed up the cake, I decided to write a review. Absolutely unbelievable. They clearly should not be in the customer...
