We traveled from quite a ways to try out this new steakhouse, as we were celebrating our father's birthday. They had just opened and were still in their soft opening stage. The staff was very welcoming and wonderful—you can tell they’re still figuring things out, but it’s clear they’re putting in a lot of effort. I imagine in a week or two they’ll have everything running smoothly.
The ambiance was absolutely beautiful and unlike anything we've seen or experienced at a halal restaurant before. We were truly impressed by the decor and even more amazed to learn that the tables and wall panels were handcrafted by the owner himself, who has a background in woodworking. That personal touch really added to the experience and made it feel even more special for the occasion.
Shortly after entering, we got to witness the “fire show” behind a glass wall in the kitchen, where one of the chefs was using blowtorches to smoke the meat—it was a very cool and unique touch!
The menu is quite extensive, which was exciting. Unfortunately, by the time we were ready to order later in the evening, they had sold out of all the smoked meats. That was a little disappointing, but understandable given the demand during a soft launch. Thankfully, we did get to try the mixed grill, the ribeye, and the wagyu New York strip—all steaks cooked medium rare.
Everything we tried was really, really good, but the wagyu NY strip was in a league of its own. Everyone in my family kept asking for more bites, so I didn’t get to enjoy as much of it as I wanted—note to self for next time: don’t share! It was phenomenal—juicy, tender, and full of flavor.
The owner himself came over to chat with us and made sure we were enjoying everything and that all was as expected. He was very kind and generous, even offering us a few items on the house. They also provided us with a private space to pray namaz, which we really appreciated.
All in all, our experience at this restaurant was very positive. It was a lovely way to celebrate our dad’s birthday. We left with full bellies and big smiles. Alhamdulillah for finally having such a premium offering in the community—not just because it’s a halal steakhouse, but because it’s a top-tier steakhouse that also happens to be halal.
Wishing the brother continued success—he’s definitely got all the right things going for him and is raising the bar for halal dining in NY. Definitely a must-try. I’ll be going...
Read moreThe food is absolutely delicious and the place is really clean. After that, unfortunately, the place is crap. Our waiter kept removing plates, silverware, and glasses that had spots on them or weren't clean. They took back my wife's menu and gave her a new one because the menu they gave her was very dirty. This gave us no comfort, for the dirty items should have never made it to our hands and table to begin with. The place was completely empty when we walked in so this is pure laziness.
I want to love this place and go back , however, they committed a deadly sin when it comes to restaurants. They add their own gratuity to the bill, without ever once posting or mentioning this before you order. HOW DISGUSTING! I can't stand how out of control tipping is in America, and I am SICK of being made to feel guilty if I don't pay someone else's mortgage with a tip. I had every intention of leaving way more of a tip than they added since the food is amazing, so I guess I should thank them? This is the first and only place I have ever been to that forces illegal charges on a bill. Forcing me to tip anyone defeats the purpose of a tip. Tips are not guaranteed, and it's not required by any New York state laws. Seeing that on the bill ruined our whole experience and has solidified the fact that we will never return. No matter how good your food might be.
This place is insanely overpriced for the atmosphere and location. Be prepared to spend more than $100 a person for an atmosphere that is way under this price point. Also at this pricepoint, it felt like I was in Applebee's with how loud the place is and all the crying screaming children. These issues never arise at any of the other places we eat at this price point so whoever owns this place needs to have a serious think with so much competetion around.
This is America, and tips are not mandatory. Your tip is based on how good I feel I was served. Forcing patrons to tip anything is disgustingly disrespectful, and totally unprofessional. This policy is not posted anywhere nor were we informed at any point that I was going to be forced to tip. We would have walked right out if I knew this before we ate. It is the principal of the matter. It's like telling someone what they have to give you for your birthday.... NO...
