RS Beanery — Restaurant in Town of Hempstead

So I'm not from the area but I have about an hour to burn and decide to check this place out. I walk in and sit at the bar, the bartender immediately walks away from the bar, never greets me, never says someone will be right with you, nothing. So I sit for about 10 minutes and now I'm thinking maybe they aren't serving drinks at this time (12 pm) and as I'm thinking let me just get out of here, I see the bartender whispering to a coworker and looking at me. Now I feel super uncomfortable as they just look at me and talk amongst themselves but I still did not leave. A few moments later the other coworker comes up to me and doesn't say a thing, so I ask... "are you guys not serving drinks at this time?" And she just says yeah we are... at this moment I can tell what is going on but I order the drink anyway. Not an ounce of conversation after that just weird energy, clearly I wasn't welcome in this establishment and I won't ever walk back in again. Oh and by the way I'm a Hispanic male, take...

Not a family place!!!!! I was at rs Jones 8 years ago with 6 people. We waited 2 hours for food.. last week after trying the coffee a few times I decided to take the family in for Friday night dinner… again we waited and waited for cold food to be delivered. The staff was horrible…. The person helping us looked mentally exhausted. The service and way my family was treated was horrible. It seems if you’re straight your.not welcome is their motto. Or your welcome but we’ll give you the worst service so you never return is their motto. We got up and walked out and left the cold food on the table… oh and when they say live music… they must mean live from the cemetery… the dance floor had a ton of buzz cuts…. Real rough crowd… not for kids! Worst absolutely worst place I’ve attempted to eat at. If your in Merrick go to hard bean or any other coffee spot. Don’t give these trash...

The place is decorated super cute, and the coffee is pretty good. My friend got a salad and it was basically just lettuce, deff not worth the price. The coffee sizes are also limited, and you can only get certain coffee in certain sizes even after saying we would pay extra, might as well go to dunkin down the block and get whatever you want without an attitude.

The blonde woman who I believe is the owner is extremely rude. She is not accommodating, and gets annoyed when questions are asked. The multiple times I’ve been there I also noticed that she is rude to her staff, the two men working the counter are so sweet and pleasant to order from but my girl friends and I dread walking in and seeing her at the counter.
