A Flavorful Fiesta at The Cuban in Garden City

Date of Visit: Sunday, November 5th

I had the pleasure of enjoying an amazing brunch at The Cuban in Garden City, Long Island, this past Sunday, November 5th, and I can't stop raving about the experience! Brown Skin Brunchin had an unforgettable time at this vibrant restaurant, and here's why The Cuban deserves all the praise.

Ambiance: The moment I stepped into The Cuban, I was transported to a tropical paradise. The warm and welcoming atmosphere, adorned with Cuban decor, lively music, and colorful artwork, set the perfect mood for our Sunday brunch. The staff's friendliness and attentiveness added to the overall inviting ambiance.

Cocktails: The Cuban boasts an impressive cocktail menu, and we couldn't resist trying some of their signature drinks. The mojitos were a refreshing start to our brunch, and the Pisco Sour was a delightful surprise. Each sip was a burst of flavor that perfectly complemented the sunny Sunday vibes.

Brunch Menu: The highlight of our visit, of course, was the brunch menu. The Cuban offers a diverse selection of dishes that cater to various tastes. We started with the Churrasco Steak and Eggs, which was cooked to perfection and served with chimichurri sauce that added an incredible depth of flavor. The Cuban Omelette was a fantastic choice for the vegetarians in our group, filled with sautéed vegetables and cheese.

The Huevos Rancheros were a spicy delight, and the Cuban Sandwich was a true taste of Havana. The brunch offerings provided a wonderful blend of Cuban and American flavors, and the portions were generous, ensuring no one left hungry.

Dessert: Don't skip dessert at The Cuban! We indulged in the Tres Leches Cake and the Flan, both of which were sweet, creamy, and a perfect ending to our brunch feast. These desserts were the icing on the cake of our unforgettable meal.

Overall Experience: The Cuban in Garden City delivered an exceptional brunch experience that we won't soon forget. From the lively atmosphere to the mouthwatering cuisine and top-notch service, it was a perfect Sunday brunch destination. Whether you're looking to celebrate a special occasion or simply enjoy a delightful meal, The Cuban is a must-visit spot for brunch enthusiasts. I can't wait to return for another flavorful fiesta!

I have been wanting to go to this place for years and finally had the chance. I took my niece out for lunch to celebrate her achievements. There was no reservation required but the parking was not easy to find. There is, however, parking behind the building.

When we entered the restaurant, we were immediately greeted by Javier, one of the assistant managers. I told him we were celebrating my niece's hard work and wanted to sit in a quiet area, if possible so we could talk. The music is not too overpowering and the atmosphere is beautiful. There are so many great pictures that decorate the walls. Anyone who comes here should take a look at them as well as the antique cars. There is also a side room for private parties. On weekends, The Cuban features live music and dancing!

Our waiter, Miguel, came over with a basket filled with the most delicious, freshly baked cuban bread. It was mout-watering, to say the least! To keep things festive but light, we ordered Pina Coladas! They were delish!

As a pleasant surprise, Miguel made fresh guacamole! It was incredibly good, too! The avocados were perfectly ripened and he made the guaco so well, it gave my homemade guacamole a run for its money! I seldom enjoy guacamole when I dine out but this was fabulous! The warmth of the freshly made chips really hit the spot with each scoop of guacamole. There was not a drop left by the time we finished. It was that good!

As a main entree, we ordered Paella. It was perfectly seasoned with the most wonderful blend of spices! The rice was perfectly cooked and melted on your tongue with every bite.

Their coffee was delicious! Perfectly brewed with a bold flavor that is smooth and not bitter.I will have to come back to try their desserts which I am sure are equally as fabulous. Overall, the reasonably priced food, the excellent service and the lively atmosphere made me regret waiting so long to come here. This is a great place to take the family, for date night or to just enjoy really good food made by loving hands! As we left, Caroline, the other assistant manager chatted with us to thank us for coming here. I do intend to return as soon as I can. I had such...
