One of the worst experiences under the red roof
In March of this year I decided to spend one night in this hotel, where I have previously stayed 2 years prior. During my previous stay, I had a pleasant experience. The Room was clean, The staff was polite and the environment was quiet. This experience was much different in a negative way. I will never stay in another red roof again!!! When I checked in at the front desk the clerk stated she could not find my hotel reservation. After a few minutes she laughed and said here it is. After receiving the key I went to the Room which was on the floor right above the lobby and next to the elevator. I am a very light sleeper so I immediately called down to the lobby and asked if I could switch rooms. One of the clerks stated that would be fine. When I stepped out of the Room, the clerk was waiting to inspect the room. I asked her did she need me to wait for her? She said no the lady at the front desk would help me. When I arrived at the front desk the assistant manager was there and she appeared annoyed by my presence. I smiled at her and said Hi. She abruptly responded with an aggressive tone that the other clerk would help me. The young lady came back down and gave me another key to and alternate Room. After dropping my belongings off in the Room I went out for the evening. When I returned to the Room I repacked my belongings, because I had an early morning flight. The next morning, I awoke feeling as if my skin was on fire, when I went to the mirror, I saw mutli raised rash all over my body. I immediately contacted the front desk, they informed me that they would contact the exterminator immediately. After getting dressed, I come down to the lobby to check out, I observed brand new mattresses set against the wall. This raised red flags as if they knew that this was an issue. The same assistant manager from the night before was at the front desk. She appeared Cold and disconnected, at no point did she show concern for the giant welps that were evidented on my arms. I wish my stay was better all she said was, pest control would be coming out and they would contact me with the results. Days went by and I had not heard from the assistant manager or manager after making several phone calls to the hotel and leaving messages. After a while I made a complaint directly to corporate. Once I did that the manager final chose to contact me back but was giving no real answers and still no apologies. After leaving the hotel I felt disgusting as if though my skin was crawling I have never experienced this before in my life. My friend had to pick me up in my car with a change of clothes and trash bags to put all my belongings in. So I could avoid bringing anything home. We went to a local McDonald's, where I changed in the bathroom and then went to urgent care where I spent 4 hours waiting for treatment and was eventually put on Medication. Read moreIf I could rate it 0 stars, I would. When I first got there, I was very impressed with the location because it wasn't far from a really nice mall that was also very big. The mall had a lot of friendly people so I was really optimistic about my stay there. When I went back to the Hotel (we dropped our bags off then went to the mall), nobody had taken any of our things (coming to America style (the movie with Eddie Murphy) lol). That was also good. My dad then went to the front desk to confirm the reservation and get the key cards. This is when the trouble started. The lady at the desk was very rude. We were trying to see if we could get rooms next to each other and she proceeded to tell us that we can cancel the reservation if we wanted to. We should have. My dad was upset but we decided to brush it off because we weren't going to let her ruin our trip. We also discovered that there was no pool, no breakfast (or dinner) and we had to take our bags up to our rooms by ourselves. We have been to many hotels around the world and this is the first time we have experienced something like this. We decided to brush it off (again) and we went up to our rooms. The elevator was creepy and I was scared it was going to break down with us in it. We got to the rooms and they were really good rooms. The beds were soft but the room wasn't as clean as it was supposed to be. The blow dryer had hair from the previous user on it, the toilet had a mysterious dark liquid sprinkled on the seat, there was a strand of mysterious hair on the toilet roll holder and there was also hair on the door. There wasn't a closet or a space for us to put out belongings away either and the tv was complicated to use. The sink was outside the bathroom and that was really weird. My sister got something from the vending machine and when we opened it, we discovered it had mold growing on it. She had already eaten a little of it before she saw the mold so we were very upset. We went to the front desk to complain to the not so friendly staff and the manager told my dad, who is almost 60, to take his foolishness and go (he used those words (he said "your" not "his")). He also told us to leave "his" hotel. I don't think they like guests very much so you'll probably be doing them a favor by not going there. We were supposed to stay for almost a week but we were so irritated that we only stayed for one night. Our room TV down since we checked in for three nights it seems none of the tv in guest rooms were working. I am giving an example I was with front desk talking other matters one guest lady came asking for tv remote that theirs tv is not working gust lady said no tv signal coming so I ask front desk lady why reception desk tv is not working either so you guys can guess…..
Washroom fan did not work in our stay for 3 nights, even mention this to front desk no one came even to look at the washroom fan or attempt to fix it. The washroom was getting fogged up after taking shower.
Bed mattress's are in bad condition, I can feel that mattress springs is touching my back and I couldn’t sleep and getting back pain.
My sister opened the night table drawer you wouldn’t believe there were roaches in the drawer.
Alarm clock is there but for show off only not plugged in I plugged it and guess what it wasn’t working. Elevator tiles are loose and broken. Property janitor to clean the common areas only mopping no vacuuming prior to vacuuming all the debris on the side laying.
There is shampoo but no conditioner again I spoke at reception she said this is 2 in 1 but bottle not saying we know that theirs answers was.
Most importantly when we talked to front desk about all these issues next morning they said our manager is coming at 10:00 am but not came till 11:00 may be that time we left the hotel can’t see manager. Next day we went again front desk about all issues that are not fixed she told do not talk loud or I will call police on you what else they can do on their gust imagine.
Last day of our stay July 23,2024 at 4am in the morning smoke alarm went off after 5 mins was stopped and then started again I went to front desk asking what happened she said some one smoke in the room probably not to worry go to your room is fixed. Only location is good other than that nothing.
This hotel is worthless to stay believe me please understand I have all the videos as well but I can’t up load them because there is no option there to upload. At the end don’t book this hotel to stay, they don’t deserve even one star. Thank for taking time to read...
