Visited this store to grab some last minute getaway stuff. Used the self checkout. My first 3 items I used the gun because one of the items was heavy, each time I used the gun I heard a beep and didn’t bother looking on the screen, so the items were never scanned unbeknownst to me. I proceeded to scan the regular way for the rest of the items my last item had no tag and I kept searching it but no tag. I looked down in my cart and saw a tag thinking this must be the tag and it somehow fell off so I scanned it and then paid over $200 for all of my merchandise. I packed everything in my shopping bags grabbed my receipt and proceeded to leave. The guy at the door checked the receipt and I went through the doors this security stopped me and barely said he’s security and to show him my receipt. I have it to him and told him the other guy already checked it. He scanned my receipt looked at my cart and muttered that there was items that had not been paid for. He didn’t even have the respect to look at me while he ushered me back inside. He took me to the security room and didn’t say anything but ushered for me to have a seat. He proceeded to check unpack my items and cross check the receipt all this time not saying anything or giving me any explanation he asked if I have ID and I said yes and handed it to him. Then the item that had no tagged he cross checked the receipt and said this is not the tag for the item. I said ok. He then packed my stuff back in minus the 3 first items that I scanned and pushed my cart back out. I said why is the rest of my stuff here and where are we going. He says out. I said give me my stuff still not knowing what was happening. So now I’m getting angry at the lack of communication he said to me if I were to call the cops it looks like you deliberately don’t scan these items. I said to him I just paid $200 for my stuff you think I’d steal $15 of merch when the most expensive thing on my receipt is $30? There was back and forth dialogue which I was too upset to tolerate further and asked him if I can go repurchase my things. He said no I will not be allowed back in the store for the rest of the day. I sarcastically thanked him for his service and walked out with my paid stuff. He told me I will get a refund of the incorrect tag that I scanned. I told him to Effing keep it and consider it his tip for the day. The lack of respect and communication needs to be addressed. I wouldn’t have minded so much if he had explained it all to me from the beginning I would have gladly let him crosscheck my items with the receipt and accept the responsibility of not being aware that some items were not scanned and offers to go back and pay for them. But no he came at me like I had criminal written all over me. I will never go back to this Walmart ever again....

Drivers: Good luck not hitting a pedestrian crossing to and from the lot and the store (if some of them seem like they're daring you to hit them, that's because this is NY - they are!).
Pedestrians: good luck in the cross-walk, aka the "kill zone", going to/from the parking lot and the store. My advice: whip out that cell phone, make a call, play your favorite game, or check out if DSW has a good sale on, then close your eyes, and push your overflowing, poorly packed cart into the crosswalk and follow closely behind like a cop through a traffic jam, and don't stop until both feet suddenly leave the ground, or until you safely reach the other side. Just remember, at these prices, it's worth a little risk.
The store is often a mess and always a nightmare. Beware people walking ahead of you, they will undoubtedly stop without warning, forcing you to take evasive action or knock them over.
It may seem intimidating, the line may look long, but always opt for self-checkout if you can. The manned checkout stations are a trap and a time-suck. Don't gamble the rest of your Sunday afternoon on getting the one competent, interested or awake cashier. The odds are stacked against you nearly as high as the cashier you will actually get is. (The way Walmart treats its employees, I wouldn't be interested, awake, competent or sober either).
Make sure to keep your receipt for that pack of gum you bought, they'll want to check it on the way out. But, if you don't have it, they will provide you a free ride in the backseat of one of the 2 police cars permanently stationed out front. (Tbh, these days they probably charge a fee for gas, time, and mileage for the inconvenience of having to come arrest you.)
But this is not a negative review.
I meant it when i say that at these prices, it's worth a little risk... of court fees, an entire wasted Sunday, bowling over a couple of senior citizens, vehicular manslaughter and life itself. Go on, I dare you to shop at Target with the rest of the upper middle class snobs who are so flush they can pay the extra 2 cents for a box of Lucky Charms like it just don't matter.
I'll see you at...

Customer service, a pivotal aspect of any retail outlet, leaves much to be desired. Instances of indifference or lack of assistance from staff members have been reported, affecting the overall shopping experience.
Furthermore, the store's environmental impact remains a concern, with limited initiatives in place to address sustainability or reduce plastic usage. This lack of eco-conscious practices might deter environmentally conscious consumers.
In essence, while Walmart in Long Island, NY, excels in product variety and pricing, several operational and service-oriented issues hamper the overall shopping experience.
