My youngest son was completely against a restaurant or catering hall for his first communion. What did he want? Smashburger! We saw online that catering was a little confusing so my wife stopped in, and met Byron the manager. He answered all the questions and took care of our order with adding a la carte items to the catering order. He was 1,000% transparent about certain items, not on catering, that don’t transfer as great as opposed to eating in the restaurant. I had an order for 20 people, pick up for 5:30pm….I got there 15 minutes early and Byron was in the kitchen himself making sure all items were cooked fresh and order was ready to go 5 min early. I know this might seem like overkill for review of Smashburger, but post COVID I feel like service at most food & restaurants have declined terribly and orders never seem right for simple requests. Byron was not only friendly and professional but took ownership of the order from start to finish. Everything was perfect, fresh, hot and a big hit. Thank...
Read moreI don't know what happened. But at some point between this year and last, smash Burger in wantagh, began to decay. A miasma of inefficient workers and inappropriate dialogue between them, has cause this once thriving establishment to fall far below the standard of even a McDonald's. Completely incorrect and improperly prepared food being delivered to all three of my party, to the disrespectful conversations between workers and the general state of filth the establishment is in is only the tip of the proverbial ice Berg. The portions were obviously an attempt to either save money or just short change customers. This has been the worst experience I have ever had at the smash Burger. Amazingly after a very recent shift change(5 pm Sunday) I can see the new workers falling in line and performing there duty's accurately and without failure. My only regret is not arriving now instead of...
Read moreActually my first time at a Smashburger - I was pleasantly surprised... the burgers were pretty tasty! Honestly, the high pricing at these burger joints always bothers me - especially when they don't come with fries. Spending $40 on two burgers, a side of tots and a large drink is ludicrous! Again, the burgers were good and tasted fresh. Visually pleasing as well. Smash-tots were actually the star of the show... a garlic rosemary flavored, petite potato puff of crispy love - that's what we're dealing with here. Location is clean, dining inside or out. I'd recommend if you don't mind a high price meal.
UPDATE Had a last minute late night meal here and it was again pretty decent. Had the double burnt ends burger and it was a lot better than I expected it to be. Still unhappy that I spent about $70 on 5 burgers; but it was better than...
