Myself and my husband went to Abbottâs to get some frozen custard, as we have not been to an Abbottâs in quite some time. We were very excited to go, but very quickly disappointed. We had walked up to the window to order when we noticed the older man working snapping his fingers at the young girl to get her attention. She had already been walking over to us when he snapped at her. I would assume it was him trying to get her attention, however that seemed very degrading. I have a daughter of my own, and I would livid if I found out a grown man co-worker of herâs would snap his fingers at her to get her attention. Despite what my husband and I just witnessed, both a bit disturbedâŚthe young lady who helped us at the front counter was very helpful and had excellent customer service. We left her a tip and went on to eat our ice cream. The ice cream itself was yummy and tasted fresh. Although it does bother both my husband and I that we saw the older gentleman treat that young lady like that, we will not be returning to this...
Read moreLoooooove me some Abbotts! Don't know what frozen custard tastes like? It's like a smoother ice cream with fantastic flavors. Well, at least at Abbotts it is. Only a handful of their locations are open all year in NY, and I make sure to swing in semi often to keep them that way. They are most known for their signature flavors. These change, but the chocolate almond is a staple - as it should be. Smooth chocolate ice cream with chopped, roasted, and salted almonds is DELICIOUS! Oh, and they make their own fresh waffle cones. I also love their shakes. I am partial to the chocolate peanut butter one myself. They also have ice cream cakes that put Carvel to shame. Dessert kits are so cute! 4 different ice creams, toppings, bowls, everything you need. I love to support locally owned restaurants, so definitely give them a try and skip the chain restaurants. These guys are better...
Read moreHorrible experience. Ice cream was good donât get me wrong, but service is my number one priority when I go places to eat as it makes me feel comfortable to be there. The one worker, i do not know names but the gentleman with grayish facial hair, around 5â10 to be as close to the person who served me, was working like he was getting paid a dollar an hour which I know isnât true, so why act lazy? I almost did not want to give my daughter her ice cream as i wasnât sure it was âsafeâ . I felt no matter how nice I could have been to him, the service would stay the same. Very unfortunate to write this, as the other young worker was sweet and considerate. She was polite. I would recommend a different location, some place with better service and all around a better...
