I decided to give Olive Garden ANOTHER chance after several disappointing experiences at some of their other locations.
The place wasn't particularly busy but I still had to wait quite a while to be seated. The hostess didn't offer bar room dining as an option despite the fact that there were tons of open tables and the bar staff was essentially just standing around. After a short wait I was escorted to a table that was sagging off the wall and slanted downwards.
A few minutes later my waitress arrived. She was visibly flustered and appeared rushed which seemed strange considering that neither her section nor the restaurant appeared to be that busy. After placing my order I noticed a decline in her attitude. When she returned to my table with bread sticks she just slapped them down on the table without saying anything and walked off. When she arrived with my salad she disdainfully asked "do you want cheese" rather than politely asking "would you like cheese on your salad, sir?". Her demeanor gave the impression that she didn't really care about what she was doing. I began to suspect that she was having a bad day until I overheard her engage another table in our section with cheery and polite dialogue. It seemed that I was being treated differently. While waiting for my meal I noticed her acting unprofessionally. A male coworker approached her to ask if someone had cleaned up a spill at a vacated table in her section. She dismissed him in a rude tone with a snarky "I don't know" and walked off. This led to another customer sitting down in a huge pool of water and could have been avoided had she communicated with her coworker in a professional manner to handle the situation accordingly. He later arrived at her section with towels and appeared dismayed that she had allowed this to happen.
A short time later my food arrived. It was instantly apparent that I had become the victim of false advertising. The meal before me looked nothing like the one pictured on the menu. The photo attached to this review does not do justice to the discrepancy. The shrimp in the menu picture are large, plump, and red. The ones on my plate were small, low quality, and visibly unappealing. Additionally, some of my pasta was under cooked and the Alfredo sauce was tasted like floury milk. Even with low expectations Olive Garden somehow managed to disappoint me. I really wanted to complain but was somewhat reluctant given the unprofessional behavior I had observed throughout my dining experience. It seemed highly unlike that staff with such a high level of demonstrated ineptitude would rectify any of my grievances in a meaningful way. It just wasn't worth the headache and I was too hungry to bother. When it was time to pay I was directed to use the card reader on my table to pay for the meal. My waitress gave me an unprompted and highly unnecessary amount of instruction on how to use the card reader. She made sure to spend the most time explaining the portion where you are prompted to leave a tip (probably just in case I wasn't intelligent enough to figure it out for myself). The following is my parting advice: DO NOT DINE AT OLIVE GARDEN. There are plenty of other legitimate restaurants that serve authentic and high quality Italian cuisine for affordable prices. In closing, I haven't had a good dining experience at Olive Garden since the early 2000's. The few times I've dined at Olive Garden in recent years have been abyssal. But their consistency is to be commended as all of their locations are just as bad as the next. False advertising, disgusting food, and poor service. Do yourself a favor and pick another place to eat.
P.S. If management wants the name of my waitress I can provide it to them. I kept a copy of my receipt and her name is listed on it. I briefly considered naming her in this review. But for the sake of being a gentleman and preserving her dignity I opted to take the high road and avoid publicly doxing her on...
Read moreThe only reason I am giving 2 stars is because of our waitress, Vierra. She was very sweet, personable and FAST. When we initially decided to go to OG - we put our names on the waitlist app. We were advised it would be a 20 - 30 min wait. When we got there no more than 25 mins later, and met with Delaina your hostess, we were told "It's going to be another probably 30 - 45 minutes from now. Okay, thats fine - we will wait it out. Asked her "can we go get a drink and wait at the bar?" She advised us "yeah but you can't get ANY food. ONLY drinks". Whatever. Wasn't planning on it, but thanks for your attitude. We go to the bar, and literally are waiting 10 minutes for someone to even acknowledge us. Which - once they did and my boyfriend ordered a blue moon I hear the one say to the other "well, the beer will taste horrible if they didn't fix the taps this morning". The manager (at least I think it was?) still poured the beer, and BOY - it was sour. If they fixed the taps, then they did a REALLY poor job at it. The pina colada had a funny taste as well. Sitting at the bar for OVER an hour and noticed that well, people that have gotten here AFTER us are getting taken in. I go back up to Delaina and asked her, "just wanted to check, do you have an idea?". There was a young male up with her who kept asking, party of 8? Nope, party of 2. I checked the text on my app that showed what place we were on the waitlist while he was checking and it said that OG was "sorry to see us go" and they have cancelled our reservation. I looked at her and showed her this. SHE LITERALLY SHRUGGED. That's ALL she did. SHRUGGED, and then stared at me like "what am I supposed to do?". This truly disgusted me. There are PLENTY of people looking for a job - she doesn't want this one? Finally the younger kid told her to put us at a table immediately, which she just started walking and not saying anything. The food was mediocre - your short staffed. Don't accept the people if you're going to put out food like that due to being overwhelmed. VERY disappointed in OG. Not sure if we would ever go back until...
Read moreI typically order the seafood Alfredo with zuppa toscana, calamari, fried ravioli, fried mozzarella, and of course lots of bread sticks! These have consistently been good. I have tried the steak which is hit or miss and not the best cut of meat. I have had the carbonara and I did not care for it. But I very much enjoy my go-to meal! Service has gone down over the years. The wait staff is usually friendly but orders have been coming up wrong, missing something, or later than other meals at the table. We have had a handful of waiters who didn't come check if we wanted refills so that's also disappointing. Other waiters are very attentive! Our last visit to this location was not ideal with the pasta type not being what was ordered, late soup, and a late meal in our party of 5. This was not the fault of the waitress. She did notice without checking the order that a meal was missing and went back into the kitchen. She took the other meal to be corrected as well. With the soup, she was just waiting for them to put a fresh pot in. She was a great and attentive waitress. The manager (I cannot remember her name) was very friendly and did what she could to provide excellent customer service. She gave us some of our orders for free! She can't go back and get the food any faster but in times where customer service seems to be lacking at most places, she was wonderful! I would like to see the kitchen staff pay more attention to the orders. I feel for them though being short staffed. As long as things are corrected with care then I'm happy. Mistakes happen. Thank you to the kitchen staff and wait staff for their hard work. It's a needed but unfortunately underappreciated job so I just want to say that I...
