I went this past Friday with my son. I was a bit underwhelmed by the experience. I paid for the "RIP" tickets and was in line for about 20 minutes to get into the main area, and then about another 5 minutes before entering the attraction proper. After entering the 'Manor' it probably took us about 15 minutes to get to the end. Overall I paid nearly $80 for the (2) tickets and don't really feel like it was worth that much for the experience.
The sets are pretty well designed, the costumes are pretty spooky, there are a few jump scares and the actors will get pretty close but won't mess with you or anything. So it's a little 'spooky' but not very scary. I do think that they let us through too soon, so we kept running into other clumps of people, so a lot of the potentially scarier moments were wasted on them and we had fewer surprises. It also might have dragged out the experience a bit (which felt a little short).
I'm not entirely sure how much time the RIP tickets saved me either, they cost an extra $20 and I still had to wait in line 20 minutes, but then I did appear to sort of 'cut' in front of some other people. But the only 2 lines were for "buy tickets" and "have tickets". This review would have been mostly the same even if it had only been $60. I will probably look for an alternative next year at this...
Read moreNightmare Manor in Rochester has been a family tradition for the past 20 years, and I can confidently say it just keeps getting better with each visit. Every year, my friends and family gather for this chilling adventure, and it never disappoints.
The creativity and detail in the sets are simply unmatched. The atmosphere is electric, with each room carefully crafted to immerse you in the haunting experience. From eerie sound effects to impressive props, it truly feels like youâve stepped into another world.
One highlight of our visits has to be Maurice the Butler. His character is brilliantly executed and adds such a unique touch to the experience. His wit and interactions with guests create a perfect blend of fright and fun. We always look forward to seeing what he has in store for us each year!
If you're looking for an unforgettable Halloween experience, I highly recommend Nightmare Manor. Itâs a must-visit for anyone who loves a good scare. Kudos to the entire team for continuously raising the bar and making this event a beloved tradition for so many! Five stars...
