Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Town of Herkimer

Applebee's is the highlight of Herkimer NY. A small town that is littered with many different fast food places, this is one of the only sit down restaurants in town and I assure you that they do not disappoint. I have ordered food here many times in all different ways, take out, delivery, and dine in.

I have now tried many of the foods Applebee's offers. The food I have been hooked on since I first tried it is their BBQ boneless wings. The sauce is delicious and the chicken is extremely tender. Steaks are very delicious, the 6oz are fairly thin, so I would recommend ordering a lower doneness level than you normally get because it tends to be slightly overcooked by one level. The 8oz steak is personally a better choice, it is thicker and easier to cook to perfection, which the cooks nailed every time. The chicken entrées are also a fantastic choice, all being very tender and having a ton of flavor. My least favorite entrée would be the pastas. I personally love plenty of sauce and they are usually pretty light on sauce.

Appetizers: Favorite is BBQ boneless wings, the other flavors of boneless wings are also very tasty. The mozzarella sticks are pretty average, beats frozen, but not fine dining. My fiancé loves the spinach artichoke dip.

Applebee's carries classic pepsi products, along with beers, wine, and other alcoholic beverages. I love ordering the specialty seasonal alcoholic slushy drinks they make. In the picture I featured the Halloween "Dracula juice" drink which was delicious.

Usually I enjoy my fair share of meats, Chicken is a favorite so I wanted to go get some. I walked in and got a seat, everyone was very sweet and I enjoyed the atmosphere but. This isn't why I'm writing this review. When I ordered the waitress was very kind, I ordered the pretzels and they were beyond amazing as always.. but afterwards I ordered the tenders and fries, I often do. They aren't amazing but I enjoy them, I was feeling fine about halfway through my plate.. then it hit me, this rush of adrenaline as I felt something beginning to reach the bottom of my body. It felt like lava, brimming and bubbling. I could feel my body begin to reject the food. I paid as fast as I could, leaving the building and getting in the car. I can’t believe the experience my family and I had this afternoon. My father, sister and I didn’t even get greeted when we walked in by the hostess..We walked in smiling, said hello, & she replied “3” with a rude tone. First red flag however, we stayed. We ordered the combo appetizer and some entrees we got our drinks, waited 40 minutes for the wrong order that was dying in the window ( not fresh ) which is fine everyone has their days. However, our server Sean didn’t even apologize once.He was very rude, taking care of other tables before us when we were there first.Mind you it was NOT busy AT ALL. My mother and I are servers we understand certain things but at least apologize and act like you care! My father asked what’s going on ?
