Highland Social Kitchen & Bar — Restaurant in Town of Highlands

Early Friday evening, no crowd to speak of. My sister, my daughters, & I went to grab a drink for my BD, & I haven’t been back since it changed owners. The prices are astronomical. We are NOT in Manhattan. We ate nothing (again prices were quite high) so I cannot say anything about their food. One of my daughters had to order a 4th drink (bottle of beer) bc there was an issue with each cocktail! I’m not sure who’s a regular there, but I’m not going to be one of them. The bar tender did his best to get her a drink she’d enjoy, but NOTHING was right! We finished our drink, & we went to Benny Havens, which was my #2 in the 80’s & 90’s! Honestly… For what is going on in this town this is a wonderful find! I have to give kudos to the owner for trying to make somewhat of a trendy chic scene… They have a beautiful wine glass! One of my favorite finds! The menu is pretty cool with their food variety. They are on the side street which does Invite some locals! Harmless kind… Just kind of there. Tons of cadets were stopping in and out on what West Point college kids call the drinking mile or W mile or something like that. Very nice signage regarding West Point support with army! Buyer beware! I placed an order for food through DoorDash. When I arrived to pick it up, I was told the kitchen was closed and that the order never should have been processed. The staff refused to help me cancel the order and suggested I dispute it with my credit card company. Useless advice. The credit card company, of course, only verified the charge with DoorDash and not with the restaurant, so I got stuck paying for food I never received. Really, really poor customer service. If you (Highland) are going to use DoorDash, make sure it knows your hours. And if you're unable to complete an order, have the courtesy to help the customer get his money back. It was your fault.
