Was in the area and thought I'd stop in for a burger, as it's on my Burger "Hit List".
I got there as they opened and was greeted by a guy who I think had some kind of ownership stake in the restaurant,.. (didn't get his name)Nice guy, affable, chatty, etc
I asked him what were the burgers that people ordered the most...
After he pointed out the Bacon Burger was very popular ...he then explained they used a proprietary blend of meat for the burgers; Chuck, Short Rib, and Rib Eye, and, additionally a dry age blend for burgers..
I ordered the Bacon Burger, with the proprietary blend of meat, medium rare, as usual. It had bacon, bacon jam, and American cheese.
It came out a perfect medium rare, which made me happy, as I've had a few misses with that temp lately...
The French Fries were perfectly crispy, as I ordered them. They also came with a garlic dipping sauce, which was very, very, good
The burger was good, but that's it...To me, nothing to write home about.. It just didn't excite my taste buds.. The blend they used is very mild in taste. I like it earthy, salty, and unctuous.. It was not bad, by any stretch of the imagination, just not my taste, to have it rank high in my Burger Hierarchy. I should go back and try one of their dry age burgers..
The bun was really good. It held up well against the juicy burger
They use those nuclear red maraschino cherries in their old fashioned, so I did not order it...ugghhh..
The place was reasonably busy at lunch time...
Plenty of parking, as it's in a large strip mall on Jericho Tpk
They have an affiliation of some sort with the...
Read moreAs a last ditch effort to enjoy a night out before the harshness of winter during the COVID 19 pandemic truly set in, I attempted to dine out at Prime Burger Bar. The experience was ABYSMAL and that is being kind. A unique, welcome addition to Commack was completely disserviced by an extremely inattentive and incompetent staff. From seating to drinks was just shy of 30 minutes in a restaurant that was about a third full. Putting in an order took another 15, and our food came out nearly a half hour later...cold, stale, and wilted from dying on a counter in the kitchen. In addition, the order wasn't even correct and I had no utensils, napkins, or refills over an hour into the meal! Our waitress spent her time chatting at the bar with other patrons or fooling around with staff at the server station while we waited patiently for dinner. After a truly subpar meal, our check came in at $48 for two burgers. Patronizing small business is critical at the moment, but I do wish I'd have kept my dollars for a different place. I will NOT be back and urge others to avoid this rather...
Read morewhen we got there we were seated quickly which was nice, the server was friendly and eager, sadly to be quite honest the food was ehh not what was expected, the Belgium pretzel that we ordered was, well plain and tasteless, the honey mustard was the best part, i then ordered KOBE burger, the size was great for the cost, however the burger was BLAND and tasteless, no seasoning nothing, the challah roll tasted 3 days til stale, the fries same thing, a good amount portion size but flavorless
i barely ate 1/4 of the burger, my wife had 1/2 of hers, (diff type of burger)
you would think that the server that sees 3/4 of a burger left on a plate might ask if anything was wrong, nope... just cared about bringing the bill... i would NOT go back nor refer anyone there.. i expected a place called prime burger bar would have their game on point and be knocking it out of the park, i would honestly say that Applebee's, would have been MUCH MUCH better.. 2 burgers and a pretzel for 50.00 plus... ehh waste of time and money.. left there not fulfilled and ...
