Shah's Halal Huntington Station — Restaurant in Town of Huntington

Have come here a few days ago and was ordering mix platters and fish on pita. The man who helped me, his name is Ben (I dont know if he gave me his real name but he is the African American guy). He rushed my order and skipped through all of the sides (salads, peppers, etc.) He didn't ask me if I wanted any of them like how its rightfully done. I have to remind him multiple times what I want and it becomes very mentally draining for me. He gave me very small portions of salad and meat (1 scoop) and I had to tell him him to put more and at the same time I was feeling rushed by him, which made it a very unpleasant experience. As I came to the register he charged me double the cost it was supposed to be as he charged me for extra meat!!!? It was a regular sized portion as it was my 7th time coming to this place and the sudden change really put me off and surprised me. I told ben that the price didnt seem right and that I wanted to be charged the normal price, without the extra charges because the portion size was normal sized and not extra. He tells me he will have to make another one without the "extra". When I told him I wanted the one he had just filled, he then lies to me that he gave the order to someone else (with an attitude too), when I saw that it was on the table behind him. He treated me with such disrespect and as if I was a fool. He tells me that he wont give me the platter and that it was now his!!! I couldn't believe what I heard. I asked for the supervisor Ryan but he wasn't available at the time and the other employees didn't help me in this situation either and even pretended to act stupid about the whole thing even though I'm the customer. Very unprofessional workers. But I hope Ryan takes care of Ben, cause I wont come to this place...

UPDATE 8/26/20: I'm so disappointed to have to provide this update, especially after my initial, glowing review. Since this pandemic started in March, I have ordered food from this location dozens of times via delivery services such as Uber Eats or GrubHub. Special instructions (like a cheeseburger with no ketchup or mayo or chicken with white sauce on the side) only have about a 25% chance of being followed. You need to understand that sometimes your customers have have children who are picky eaters or have allergies. When you make a mistake like this, it's not an oh well scenario, it's as good as not including the meal at all. Most recently I got burned by this last week and had to place a second Uber Eats order to replace the messed up meal, this time ordering from Kebab Express, who thankfully gets it right 100% of the time. Please reach out to me as what I really want is for your accuracy to improve.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: What an excellent experience I had at Shah's in Huntington. Visited on the 3rd day and was extremely pleased. Very friendly staff, excellent food that lives up to the original Hicksville location. Check out the pics of that Philly Cheesesteak, so gooey! It was made excellently, with the right amount of meat and cheese. Some competitors try to skimp out by basically making it a bread sandwich with some meat.

To the owners: Please keep serving up high quality food and do not change anything! Except maybe offer online...

So, this place is right of a main road, so it's easy to pass....BUT, don't be fooled. The food is incredible. There is something for everyone!! If you have a moment, please go in an order {and the place is so clean and well lit}! It's a must. There is two seat in tables but in the warmer weather, there will be outdoor seatings. It is made fresh, comes to you hot, and you can tell, it is made perfectly by taste, texture, presentation and is fresh off the grill. My son and I decided to go in and order because we were hungry from errands. We were greeted with a warm greeting from the front end cook and he was so pleasant. Mind you, my son has behavioral needs so he may look and be all over the place...well, that man didn't think anything of it and talked to my son friendly {and my son sensed it...and considered him his best friend}. I only say this because not everyone is opened nor has the patience.. So it's nice to see people be accepting. When my son and I ordered...the food looked so fresh and the order was perfect. We decided to sit down and enjoyed everything!! My son had lettuce with the white sauce and the Halal chicken and rice. I ordered chicken, rice, and salad with cuckes and tomatoes with hot sauce on the side. When we were done, the manager greeted us and talked to my son and I. He was also friendly.
