I can’t begin to tell you how much Clover Home Leisure exceeded my family’s expectations this past September. We’ve been on the hunt for an inground pool for a couple of years. After visiting other Pool stores in Rochester, we were not impressed with the other stores’ products, and definitely not the customer service. One of my clients recommended visiting Clover Home Leisure. We were welcomed when we walked in the door, and we were directed to speak with Shawn Cudo, a Pool specialist. Shawn listened to our wants and needs right from the start. From there, he showed us the inground pools to fit not only our needs, but our budget. The pool that we ordered is actually manufactured right here in New York State! We received a phone call from the owner of Clover Home Leisure, Carl Ziegler a week later. He wanted to visit our home and talk about placement of the pool. The fact that the owner of the company is the one visiting my home to make sure our wants and needs are not only met, but exceeded really goes a long way. It’s very rare these days. We actually got lucky in the fact that the pool that we ordered was in stock. Another customer that ordered the exact same pool backed out at the last minute. Carl advised my family and I from start to finish, from getting permits to explaining the process from A-Z. He visited our home three times before excavating to make sure it was placed exactly where my wife and I wanted it. The job only took 2.5 days from start to finish! Carl was on premises the whole time with his crew. His crew was knowledgeable, experienced, friendly, helpful and extremely respectful of our home. This kind of customer service and business etiquette is so rare these days. Carl Ziegler, Shawn Cudo and Clover Home Leisure went WAY above and beyond expectations! My family and I will be returning to purchase patio furniture, and other home furnishings. I recommend clover home leisure to anybody looking for an inground, or above ground pool as well as patio furniture, indoor furniture, etc. they are one of the last businesses of their kind, and I am so grateful that my family and I walked through their doors when we...
Read moreMy wife and I became interested in purchasing a hot tub. We ended up at Clover Home & Leisure and were assisted by Sales Representative, Shawn. Shawn led us through the showroom and explained each brand to us one by one. He took his time providing operations and specifics of the hot tub manufacturers. We didn't know anything about hot tubs. Shawn was very helpful as he was very knowledgeable in that area. We learned so much that we had a hard time deciding. After a second trip to Clover we met up with Shawn and we were able to decide on the Hot Springs Rhythm Spa. We not only left Clover making a solid purchase by selecting Hot Springs, but we learned a lot about hot tubs in a short period of time. 23 years ago we bought a 24ft above ground pool from Clover so we decided to go back. Their service has always been the best. I have already recommended Shawn and Clover Home & Leisure to a friend that is interested in a Viking Hot Tub. Thank you Shawn for your patience and for your kindness and gratitude to your customers and to first responders. We very much appreciated your help.
Update: We had our hot tub delivered this week. We had to build a concrete pad for it. All the rain kept setting us back. Shawn kept in contact with us throughout the process and recommended an electrical contractor named Lighting Darkness Electrical Contractors for our hot tub wiring. The delivery team was extremely careful with the hot tub and very helpful in guiding us through the hot tub operation upon delivery. The Lighting Darkness electrical contractor team arrived right after the hot tub was delivered and right away started the electrical work. The Lighting Darkness electrical contractor team positioned the tub to where we wanted it, started filling it up with water and in a short time, my hot tub was full with water and running. The whole electrical wiring process from start to finish was done by a very professional team well put together. Love our Hot Springs tub! Thanks to everyone that helped us,...
Read moreSo... Clover is convenient since I live in the neighborhood. If you need pool chemicals during business hours or need your water tested, they can help. When I buy cases of chlorine, someone usually offers to carry it out, which I think is kind. That said, I have noticed over the years that there's usually one person (sometimes two) working the front, and if there's one customer, the next person has to wait... even if it appears there are 5 or 6 other people "working" in the other departments within view, having conversations with one another or sitting at desks not looking too busy...
My husband and I came in to buy bar stools for our bar with our two kids a few years ago... we were the only customers there... Not one person working there acknowledged us or asked if we needed help. And, we were regular customers, who visited frequently. That has been the general experience. When I have been helped, the person at the counter is generally friendly and helpful (and the person who worked on the motor of our pool filter whi was dealing with an overabundance of work and a backlog, but she was very kind and honest with us). Other than that, I feel like there's lots of people who 'work' there who don't seem too customer oriented, and honestly, prices are expensive. We usually like to shop locally, but because of feeling ignored so often when coming into the store, we purchased our 6 bar chairs elsewhere, and saved a lot of money. I started buying my chlorine up the street at Walmart and save a ton of money and just do curbside pickup. I feel bad not giving my business to Clover, but it seems like a simple enough fix. Become customer oriented, make it a general rule to acknowledge customers and ask how you can help, help colleagues when they're in the weeds if you aren't busy, and offer slightly more competitive prices. I'd pay more for chlorine to shop local, but not as much more as...
