So I had made a reservation for 8pm for my bf and myself. We got there at 7:55pm and as soon as we came in there was the biggest crowd flooding the hostess stand. We waited a bit but the crowd was not moving at all. So we make our way up to the front and wait some more trying to get the hostess attention. At this point it's 8:05. So we finally get her attention and tell her we had an 8pm reservation and she looked at the time and made a face and looked like she was about to tell us we were late but I cut her off saying we've been waiting on this sea of people for over 10 min. So she told us she had no tables and asked if we wanted to sit at the bar and we just agreed because we were hungry. So we walk over to the bar and there are no seats available. So we look over at this gentleman that works there and we told him the situation, that we had a reservation and there are no tables and we were told to go to the bar but there's not any open seats. So he tells us to hold on and finally 20 minutes later he gets us a table. The food was okay. Not the greatest. And the drinks were really bad. I ordered a mojito and it did not taste at all like a mojito...The place was extremely loud and packed and service was really slow. I do not recommend this place for a date night as it's just not the vibe and they don't honor reservations since I had an 8pm reservation and we got seated about half an hour later. Also my bf has a peanut and treenut allergy and we were trying to tell them but the waitors and waitresses barely speak English so they did not understand. So halfway through eating my bf started experiencing symptoms and he would not touch anymore food, so we basically wasted 38 dollars since he barely ate. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because I feel very bad for the staff that have to endure chaos and disorder the whole time they are working and they deserve better. Will not be...
Read moreEDIT: Changing this review to 5 stars. I went back 2 more times with my friends because they wanted to check it out and the service was on point both times. Quick and efficient. Thank you for caring enough to fix your service.
I will start by saying the SUSHI IS TOP QUALITY, ESPECIALLY FOR ALL YOU CAN EAT. This is in my opinion the BEST all you can eat sushi place on the island in terms of quality of fish and value for your money. The menu selection on the all you can eat side is great and even includes hibachi for the same price. The drinks are also very nice and look appealing with the way they are served to you.
Unfortunately, the service there is so poor we won't be back. We have been here 5 times and 3 of these times, the wait was SO LONG for our sushi. They said the dining has a limit of 90 minutes but often your food takes 90 minutes OR MORE to come from start to finish. The times we went they were not even busy as it was later at night on weekdays. If you put multiple rounds in, you will be waiting a very long time. The staff always apologizes to us multiple times for the wait and checks on us and the staff is very nice and accomodating but the wait times are just unbearable.
If you are starving and not in the mood to wait, I would recommend not coming here. If you don't mind waiting a long time for top quality all you can eat, then this is definitely a place...
Read moreAtmosphere and service are great but the sushi is fair at best. Rolls were just ok but the soso fish quality is masked by them drowning rolls in sauce. Crunch rolls had way too much crunch and the fish seemed like it went thru a blender. Having straight sushi the pieces of fish were very thin and not long enough. The rice was heavily compacted (felt like Thai sticky rice) and there was so much more rice than fish that it wasn't good at all. We started with tempura and the batter on the shrimp was raw inside. We ended with tempura banana which was soggy and the banana tasted like it was way overripe and was inedible. The green tea ice cream was almost tasteless and we had to send back one portion of the red bean ice cream BC it had bad freezer burn. Overall it seems that they pre-make a lot of the dishes (like the ice cream which was frozen to the bowl. Bowl was freezer cold confirming my suspicion) and then just finish them "just-in-time" to speed up service. Another example is they give you a premade serving of wasabi and giner in the same little bowl which made the wasabi "soupy" from the ginger liquid. It works on the quick service end, which was great, but the fair food quality and poor taste negates the service and atmosphere. I'll go back to my soso atmosphere and good basic service at my favorite all-you-want sushi place; Nova in...
