Leonardo's Pizza Cafe — Restaurant in Town of Islip

January 11,2013, I went into Leonardo's Pizza store in Hauppauge, NY. As i was on line i saw a little sign saying credit card broken cash only, so i went next door to the ATM and then came back. When i came back i was at the front because there was no one there, before i can say any thing or the old man behind the counter, Leonardo the boss comes out and put his hand in my face in front of everybody in the store and very loud and said stop and be nice. I said excuse me i didn't even say anything, he then said i look mean. I then said what look leonardo then says the look on your face. Leonardo then said the old man behind the counter does not know how to write down anything. I then said to leonardo i did not want him to write down anything i didn't even get to place my order because you said i look mean, which is not nice to assume i'm mean especially when i have not said anything mean or nasty. Leonardo then said ok what do you want. I gave him my order as leonardo took my order to the kitchen area. That's when i said i know i do not look like i'm 40 something years old but there's no need to speak to me that way. Leonardo then said he's older than me he just dyed his hair at that point i stop talking to him because it seem like it was gonna be a nasty argument and i was getting upset. That's when the old man started talking to me very nicely saying sorry leonardo is just upset because the credit card machine is not working. And then some of the customers said that was wrong and inappropriate what he said to me. Shortly, a man came in he must've placed an order over the phone because when he came in he started yelling the credit card machine doesn't work very loudly and said he did not have enough money. Leonardo did not attack him like how he attacked me. Leonardo told the man don't worry about it and told him the amount he would owe him just pay me when you see me. At that point i withdrew my order and leonardo did not seem to care and i left. I felt it was very embarrassing and humiliating for a store owner to come out and say you look mean, why should i be attacked saying nothing but a man comes in yelling and get treated nicely. Wouldn't have been more professional asking are you ok or simply say can i help you. I hate to call the racist card but what was it, is it because i'm black or is it the gender issue because i...

There's a reason why people go to Leo's DAILY...the food is fantastic, the staff are friendly, and the establishment is clean. Any review below saying otherwise is due to the customer's shortcoming, not the proprietor's. I have never been told I can't charge something under $10. There is definitely no such sign that says otherwise. I've also never come into the store and been told their credit/debit machine wasn't working and I'm there every day. Leo has, hands down, THE BEST pizza in Hauppauge, if not the best pizza on Long Island. His salads are made fresh each order. The chicken is fantastic. The rolls and heros are beyond compare. I could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner there every day of the week and never get bored with the selection. Kudos Leo! Shawn, Will and everyone else, too! Keep up...

I ordered a pie from this place and there was a piece of plastic in the pizza. I decided to call the place to for warn them that they had given me a pie with plastic. The owner explained that it happens when cutting the cheese packs like it was no big deal and had a horrible attitude. When I told him I was trying to look out for his place because places get sued over these types of things he got angry and said he’d never get sued over plastic being in his pizza. I will never eat at this place again and I highly recommend no one eats here since he thinks it’s normal for there to be plastic in his pizza. If could give zero...
