Manhattan Sweets Boutique Bakery — Restaurant in Town of Islip

If you are looking for an old fashioned bakery like when you were a kid, this is the one. Everything is made fresh using fresh ingredients like real butter, milk, and eggs! The only problem I have with this bakery is making a choice for what I want. There are so many choices! I love their Italian Ribbon Cake, yummy. And if you don't want a whole cake, you can purchase it as a cupcake. I love their croissants especially their almond croissant.

If you want something special, try their specialty cakes but make sure you listen to their instructions how to serve them. They are always better if you leave them out at least an 30 minutes before serving to release their full flavors. Although they have a limited amount of bread, what they do have is wonderful. I always order baguettes for my special meals.

Yes, I am one of the boneheads wandering and shopping the island for goods during a pandemic. I needed eggs, sue me. I passed this place on the way to the meat market a few doors down and decided to check it out. I honestly cant think of a better time to get some mental health donuts and boy did this place deliver. I got the chocolate glazed donuts, chocolate and peanut butter donuts and maple bacon donuts. The donuts were super fresh and moist unlike some other fancy baked goods places that shall not be named. The bacon on the maple donuts would have been better had it been crisper but delicious nonetheless. The peanut butter chocolate donuts were excellent, very good balance of flavors. Had a pretty good selection of standard fare, cookies, cakes, cupcakes and those giant claw things. Staff was ok, quick to help. Can't wait to go back and pick up some more end of the world might as well sugar...

I hate leaving bad reviews, but this one is necessary. I went for a cake tasting for my engagement party cake and chose a delicious flavor. When we got the cake for my event, the decor was exactly what I wanted, but for some reason the cake tasted completely different than what it tasted like a few weeks prior. It was almost tasteless. The icing was a weird texture and super hard (the cake was left out of the fridge for 8 hours before serving) the flavor inside the cake was oddly tasteless and the texture was dry. No one complained at the dinner to be kind, but the next day multiple people reached out to me and said I should request a refund. My mother called to explain what happened and was told she would get a call back that same day (which is completely fine), but she never received a call back at all.
