First time here. There is plenty of free parking and it is easy to see from the road. Walking in from a sunny afternoon it was quite dark inside, but had a large stone fireplace with a warming fire going g. There are tables right near the fireplace which was really nice. There is piped in music and several televisions playing sports with no sound. There was one bartender/ waiter only for all the tables (about 6) and the bar. The menu is only soups, sandwiches and drinks. I ordered chili and a turkey club. My husband ordered vegetable soup and bratwurst. Food came out quickly and was steaming hot. Chili and soup were excellent, but served in a paper bowl with a plastic spoon. Both sandwiches were huge served with a pickle, little side of potato salad and small bag of chips. These were served in a well used and not clean wicker basket with deli paper protecting it from touching the wicker which I was glad to see because my basket had smears of tomato sauce or ketchup on it. The food was good but I was quite put off by the big spots of chewed gum, spit out and walked over until it creates round black spots on the wood floor. The menus look like they have never been wiped down with a disinfectant wipes. Tables and chairs need a good scrubbing as the back of my chair was sticky. I shudder to think what the kitchen looks like as it is completely sealed off by a swinging wooden door. Best idea here, get it...
Read moreWe ordered takeout tonight for a group of six. We ordered some apps and sandwiches. The pizza rolls were ok but didn't come with the marinara mentioned on the menu. The mozzarella sticks were what you would expect but also missing marinara. The disco taters had a splash of gravy and no identifiable cheese. Gross.
Someone ordered the Portly Cordon Bleu but it had what seemed to be a breath of chicken breast on it; like the shavings you would see after the chicken was sliced in the deli. It was 80% bread, a slice of ham, probably (?) cheese, and mustard on stale bread.
Another person ordered the Portly Cheesesteak. It was also served on the same stale bread as previously mentioned and had a sneeze of cheese on it. The onion was just slices of red onion. That's not at all what a cheesesteak should be; this was an epic cheeseMISteak.
Somehow the Texas Cheesesteak was better; it was served on something similar to a pretzel bun but had no noticeable BBQ sauce. The bread to meat ratio was way off. The person who ordered it said "it's not terrible."
Someone else ordered the Italian hero and was unimpressed. Same stale bread; bread:meat=crap.
And the last sandwich was the Reuben and it was actually good!! I'll give credit where credit is due!
I've eaten here years before and never had an issue but this was abhorrent. I don't think I would give this...
Read moreWhat a cute tiny bar. There's security waiting at the door to check your I.D. so make sure you have it! I ordered a Sam Adam's Cherry Wheat. First time having it and it was very good; Sweet with only a subtle alcohol taste. There was a nice array of music. It was crowded but not in an uncomfortable way. Bar tender was friendly. There was a girl who was very drunk there and security made sure she got an Uber home. Clean bar, fair enough lighting and fun atmosphere. They have these little plaques on the ceiling with sayings and business advertisements that were funny. They serve food too but I came around 3:00 am so the kitchen was closed. They offered me popcorn but I wasn't in the mood for it. Also they were serving drinks still at 3:00am when all the other bars had stopped by then. That's what made me go there in the first place. As mentioned, it is tiny though and did not have a lot of places to sit other than the chairs at the bar and some by the bathroom but my friend and I weren't there long so it didn't bother us. Had a lot of fun. Would definitely come back...
