16 Ellicott Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Town of Lancaster

Alright hear me out. We drive by this place routinely and see it from Walden but never bothered on the amount it looked sketchy beyond the normal hole in the wall local watering hole.

Whether intentional or not with the looks all I can say is this place is a gem. We happened upon it by not wanting to park a half mile from Margies on an evening out for a Lentin fish fry and figured worth the lack of fish fry flair at other places as of late the chances were 50/50.

The fish fry? Epic, they used dill in their batter with actual beer, believe it or not, some places use premix batter and water, and 3 sides. The entire meal came out so hot I kept burning my mouth trying to eat the skiff fish. Yes, it beckoned that much, the sides were honestly some of the best locally. Everyone else is using jig brand garbage and these guys are whipping that mac crack salad in the back. Potato salad snobs be warned, it is a mayo mustard mix, seemed more mayo dominated with diced sweet gherkins in it so if you're not a fan of that combination sub it out or, like I did because I like a more vinegar mustard base was add some table malt vinegar and bam! Almost as good as Gam Gam's (to the proprietor, it's Gam Gam so back off, she's got previous little time left). Fries are not battered if you care about that.

I've been to 16 Ellicott on some Saturdays and on some Tuesdays. Saturday is a fun night there.

On Saturdays, they have bands and sometimes karaoke. The servers and bartenders are on their game. The bands are good. the karaoke is run professionally, and the crowd is fun.

The food is okay but not great. Temper your expectations.

On Tuesdays the offer karaoke which, unfortunately is not professionally run. Poor sound quality on a karaoke system that periodically breaks down. Both the karaoke host and the bartender get three sheet to the wind half way through their. If you're not part of the bartender's click, it may take some time for her to notice you're glass is empty.

The Tuesday crowd is made up of more local riff raff than fans of karaoke and hence there is next to no reaction from them regardless of who sings and how well they might have done.

First time coming to this bar on a Friday night. Had a real pleasant experience getting my first round of drinks. But that was a fluke, i guess. The rest of the night, the bartenders blatantly ignored me at the bar. I came up for a lotto slip, and they did not come up once to me. Went to others who walked up after me but would glance down and walk by me, ignoring me. I ended up leaving the slip on the bar and left. Four other friends that met me here actually said they were ignored all night long as well. The bartenders seemed to only take care of "regulars."
