PAPA'S HALAL GYRO — Restaurant in Town of Lancaster

There are many places where gyro type halal food are available. However, most of the options leave lot to desire from quality, taste and quantity perspective let alone stuff behavior. Some restaurants will charge lot without giving enough rice by filling the box with salads and bread rather than with meat and rice. Papa’s halal gyro was different from the rest. We tried two mixed platter so got to try two different chicken and beef. We liked all four. Beef and tandoori chicken were our favorite. Some times small gestures make your experience great. We noticed how the owner asked the employee to reduce salad and put more rice even when we did not ask and not even paying attention. Another difference was the employee asked us if want more salad or more rice which is unlike others. The owner was super nice and friendly. Employee was nice as well. Overall, great experience, good quality food and great attitude from the owner and stuff. This a great combination for a good restaurant. I got dinner here and will absolutely be coming here again. The staff are super friendly and are happy to explain the cuisine (and their many options) if you're not familiar with it, and the food I ordered was delicious. I ordered the gyro wrap, the loaded fries with chicken kabob, and their seasoned rice.

This gyro meat is chunks of seasoned ground beef and lamb with different seasoning flavors than what you might expect in the meat of a Greek gyro. It was tender and very tasty, and the whole wrap was delicious.

I got the fresh loaded fries topped with the chicken kabob, feta cheese, white sauce and tzatziki. This kabob is a patty of ground and seasoned chicken. It had a satisfying chew, lots of flavor, and was even a little spicy. It was easily my favorite part of the meal, and it went great with the sauces.

I also tried their seasoned rice, also with some white sauce and tzatziki. The rice was fragrant and flavorful, and also paired well with the sauces.

Oh wow! What a beautiful and delicious feast. We all agree that this has been the best, freshest and most delicious and fragrant meals we have ever had! We will definitely be revisiting often.

Amir and his sister-in-law are amazing people who went out of their way to make me and my family feel comfortable and make sure we tried a sample of anything we mentioned!

The portions were GENEROUS and all the other customer in there with us were praising their amazing hospitality and food. They even entertained my daughter as she was playing around with them with so many other people in their restaurant.

They have outdoor seating. Everything they make is fresh and their recipes are all from Amir’s wife. The restaurant was busy for a 2:30 P.M. meal stop on a Monday.
