I’m guessing the town folk simply rally. Because overall it’s barely mediocre. Breaded fish - 10% of time great. Well cooked nice piece even if oil is well overdue for a change. (Cringe) 50% of time edible. ( barely) 40% we just throw in trash and don’t even eat after 2 -3 bites. I’m guessing that’s what most the town does. And we are so lazy we still do it maybe 6 times a year - for years . It’s embarrassing if you have out of towners you’re hosting - in that case just no. Run.
Dry. Overcooked. Thin pieces. Old fry oil is just the worst. Just horrible… all fried items are gross more often than not. I do order between 6-7 usually btw. Maybe that matters. Lotto winners get the odd good cut/ cooked nicely but that is very rare. I was trying to be kind with the percentages. All fries 100% are limp noodle and greasy used oil taste. Never experienced it otherwise. Just asked for well done fries and - We got limp noodle fries regardless AND an amped up attitude lol! . Simply old oil grease and old potatoes warmed up yesterday but served. Inedible. Simply put. And that’s the status quo.
Fried onion rings ( frozen) usually same. I once received them and actually ate many of them.
Truly don’t understand The high ratings other than a small town falsely reporting.
Mac salad - tasteless. But made in a way you can spruce it up at home to make it great.
Scallops - shockingly great!
Fried jalapeños - taste overwhelmingly freezer burned. Absolutely inedible. Taste ..plastic? . Guessing not a local winner so they sit for 6+months after the use by date. ( was really gross my one attempt) truly - gross.
Mac n chez - okay if that’s how you like it ( doubtful). Hard to...
Read moreWe eat at Atlantic Seafood every single week. The fried haddock is the best I have ever had, including in Halifax and at Peggy's Cove. Chris and Mimi and the staff know exactly how we like our fish and accommodate us. You can get haddock by the pound or choose a dinner or a sandwich. There are lots of sides too. The tempting desserts are packaged single serve so everyone can get exactly what they like best. The new remodeling and landscaping look amazing and we enjoy eating out at the picnic tables next to the rock river and decor that resembles a dock. This place is always busy on Fridays, so we tend to go during the week. Sometimes we get haddock to bring home and serve with our own sides, and other times we enjoy a picnic there. The French fries are made to order so you always get really hot, crisp fries and can get them salted or not. This restaurant would not be considered fast food but you can be in and out at least as fast as any of the chain places and enjoy much better quality food. Thank you for a great experience every...
Read moreWould definitely go back again when I'm in the area. It was good, but it's no Stan's Seafood out of Rome, NY. Stan's and Atlantic are the exact same style of food service. So I just have to compare this rare seafood take out style to each other. Stans just has fresher oil and a better breading recipe on their foods. BUT Atlantic is open much more where Stan's only cooks on Friday's.
Im disappointed Atlantic sadly has that horrible mass produced seafood salad recipe where they stick in chopped celery that ruins it all. Better off getting price chopper seafood salad where instead of celery they use mini shrimp.
Sounds like I'm just complaining, but I'm a huge seafood lover and have my personal critiques. But overall it was good. The service was nice, and quick. Overall satisfied and would go again when...
