We had probably one of the worst experiences here. We went on a Saturday night at 7:45, we made a reservation in advance. We come in and there was some miscommunication with the hostess and we got sat at somebody else’s table. So we had to get up and then wait for our correct table to be ready. Then when we went to be seated, we were actually seated at the same table we were just at. We were told a server would be over in a minute and we had said we didn’t know if we wanted just drinks or if we were going to order food and told her we would sit at the bar, but she said a table would be better. After waiting 10 minutes for our waitress to even come over and ask us if we wanted a drink, we told her we just wanted drinks and asked if she wanted us to sit at the bar. She said sure and it would free up a table for somebody else. So we sat at the bar, the bartender completely ignored us. He never introduced himself or said he would be with us in a minute. Until roughly 5 minutes later when he said he would be with us shortly. Then the lady who was originally supposed to be our waitress came up and asked us what we wanted to drink. I ordered a wine and my husband ordered a beer. We sat and drank our drinks for probably 20 minutes. While we were sitting we also heard another person complaining at a table that they had been waiting for 20 minutes for their drinks. There are only 7 tables in the whole place and there were 2 servers on. When this occurred there were only probably 4 people total at the bar, so this shouldn’t had been an issue. We then proceeded to put our card on the counter and ask if we could pay our tab. The bartender said ‘you had a beer and a wine correct?’ And we replied yes, he even asked while wine I had and I told him. He puts our receipt and our card down and tells us to have a good night and then goes out back for something. I look at the receipt and we were charged $103.74. We said to the other waitress that he charged us the wrong tab and she called over the other waitress to handle it. They told the bartender and all he said to us was, ‘oh sorry about that guys’. He did not take care of the issue, the waitress and I believe the manager did. Finally it was fixed and we left. That was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had, and we probably will...

We had wanted to try this place for a while as it looked like a cool spot and the menu seemed fantastic. I left a voicemail on a Friday for reservations that same evening and got a return call not long after confirming a table for 2. The decor and vibe is simple, warm, and classy. We were promptly seated and our waitress arrived to share the specials. Overall the staff was great and seemed to be on point. We ordered a glass of wine and a Black Walnut Infused Manhattan for myself. The wine was great. When the Manhattan arrived 30+ minutes and one reminder later, it was a little light but tasty. We proceeded to order the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake to share, Saltimbocca, and the burger.

The "Jumbo" in the crab cake must have referred to the type of crab used, as it was slightly larger than a silver dollar. It looked beautiful but lacked flavor. We found the pairing with the squash and chow chow to be off. Whatever...move on.

The burger was calling to me. I'm not sure how they could cook an entire plate of food devoid of any flavor, but they succeeded. The burger appeared to be cooked as ordered (medium) but was still dry. The beef tasted like...nothing. Nothing at all. Even the bacon when tasted on its own had zero flavor. The fries were undercooked and unseasoned. Out of everything on my plate, only the Swiss cheese had any flavor.

For my wife's meal; they put the "salt" in Saltimbocca. We thought it was cooked, and presented well. The initial bites were tasty, albeit salty. As she continued to eat her dinner, she stopped short of finishing due to the salt.

Given the other reviews and effort put into the menu, we were overall disappointed. Nothing in the entire meal stood out or would beckon us to return. I'm glad we tried it and wish the...

As I sit here paying my bill…I’m disappointed…my reservation was for 730…I checked in at 7 and was told to come back at 730 for our table. Returned at 730 and was told it was not ready, but we could sit at the bar, which we did…8 o’clock rolls around and we’re finally seated. We sit, order and don’t see our food till almost 9pm. It’s my 10 year wedding anniversary, which they knew…and they blew it. I picked you guys because our air bnb owners were friends with the owners and they suggested you. I sat with an empty drink for almost 25 minutes during the time we waited for food. You Couldn’t even offer an apology. It’s a shame because the food was good. I know it was busy…but today’s service was sub par. I’ve worked in the industry and have some sympathy…but we weren’t even checked on for almost 40 minutes. I don’t plan on ever returning, but figured you guys should hear the criticism. A table that came in at the end of our meal received their food within 10 Minutes of sitting down…why not us?! You were also kind enough to comp an appetizer for the folks at another table next to us dealing with the same wait…again…nothing offered to make tonight right. Your...

Truly can't say enough about how incredible this place is. Using fresh local ingredients, a cozy fun environment and the cocktails were out of this world good. The owner even took time to give me some tips of her own for creating simple syrups and how to mix certain drinks. We started with the fried green tomatoes and bean salad, then my wife got the "Pen" option for the night. Delicious Pork Sambuca with capers and perfectly season vegetables. I went with the "Water" option. Blackened shrimp and pumpkin gnocchi in a creole cream sauce with the perfect amount of warmth and kick. This was by far and away the best dining experience for our honeymoon. Every single time we're even remotely close to the area, we're coming back!!!

Great addition to Penn Yan’s food scene! Dined here 9 months ago and had a terrible experience- too many negatives to list here. Happy it’s now under new management; same who manage Burnt Rose Wine Bar next door. Much better experience! Attentive, professional and sober staff, delicious food & cocktails, and a nice vibe. I would give a 4.5 if I could. A five star experience for me would include an amuse-bouche and food slightly more refined. We had the smoked chicken and pan roasted potatoes with a chimichurri sauce. I would have liked a veggie on the plate too. Still a great experience. We will definitely return.

We had the chance to try out 18th Amendment for the first time this weekend. The food and drinks were great, and the bar atmosphere was lively. There are several unique cocktails crafted by Nick the bartender available with local FLX spirits or other well known labels. Fried green tomato and bean salad, and the tuna / avocado stack were a great start. The mains were perfectly cooked - a filet for me (with the best veg side ever), and the knife and fork burger for my wife. Dessert was a berry panna cotta and the perfect ending. We can't wait to visit again on our next visit to Penn Yan.
