Been here before, but only just now writing a review of this place. Little Italy is an Italian deli with meats, cheeses, sandwiches, as well as dishes like eggplant parm, and various other dishes.
I went here on 4/4/2023 with my mom because she wanted the meat pie, potato croquets, and potiently eggplant parm, but decided on getting the parm at shoprite nearby. We placed our order with the owner i believe, and he was very nice and helpful. We ended up ordering a 1/2 tray of meat pie, and a full sheet of potato croquets. We placed our order for 4/8/2023, in which my mom picked it up. only minor thing was that we asked if they charge a percentage of the credit card, and the guy was like "our company makes us charge a percentage for using a credit card", which is fine, but my mom was asking that so we know to bring cash with us to pick it up. Their potato croquets were really good! nice tender potato, not too crunchy on the outside. Overall enjoyable. the company that we had also liked the meat pie. I don't eat that kind of stuff, nor the eggplant parm, but that's okay. Hopefully will be back next time we...
Read moreThis is a destination store. Been a regular for 20+ years despite living 110 miles away. Breads, truffle cheese, sun-dried sweet red peppers, prepared dinners are a 5 out of 5. What takes them to the next level is the owners and staff. They delight in having you try new items, such as Easter meat pie and Grain pie over the holidays. Anthony’s preparation of a Mr Monroe sandwich continues to blow my mind. My first time years ago, I carried the sandwich to my car, but quickly returned to the shop and said “who does this?” He cut the chicken breast thinly and longitudinally, a pain in the ass for other shops, but standard procedure here. When cut in fourths, using an amazing technique that could be patented, you can see a vivid cross section of colors - the red sun-dried sweet peppers, bright green broccoli rabe, the thinly cut and reassembled chicken breast, aged provolone, and depending, some...
Read morePretty good Italian deli, especially for this neck of the woods. It was originally on Arthur Ave in the Bronx before they moved up here, so they know what they're doing. Facilities are modern, good counterpeople, but prices more or less match what you get in the city. I've had numerous things including the thick sausages, sausage pinwheel, broccoli rabe, roasted red peppers, bread (delivered from Arthur Ave Bakery I believe), et al (they have a huge counter of prepared foods, etc.). Everything I've had was authentic and definitely solid, although I've yet to have something that has that great "wow" quality. However, since its my family's go-to place for Italian goods, I'll have plenty of opportunities to see if this place has anything great. But even if its just solid, having a place like this nearby is...
