I remember when I was a kid, and had a wolf sweatshirt. I remember it so well I went on Amazon and found a new wolf sweatshirt, except this time it had three wolves on the front. As soon as it was promptly delivered, I couldn’t wait to wear it and show my wife. She came home and was not as pleased as I was. She finally asked what we were going to do for diner, and I replied “well, since I am one with the wolves now, I want steak”. She agreed. So Outback is where we agreed to go. We arrived, and sat relatively quick. We met our server, Denise, that asked us what we would like to drink. I said dealers choice on the “ ‘tails “. Her suggestion of the Down under mule for me, and the Boomarita for the wife were on point. Now came to the order. Me being one with the wolf pack tonight, I wanted to choose wisely. Asked for our server’s suggestions. For an appetizer, she told us the Sydney shrooms, fine not quite a wolf meal, but we went with it. That’s when she must have noticed my sweet, sweet three wolf shirt and quickly recommended that I try the bone in New York Strip. She must know what wolves love. If you must know, my wife (not a wolf) got the Toowoomba salmon. Let me say, wolf or not, those mushrooms were the beez kneez. Would get those again with or without my new prized sweatshirt. Before our meals came out Denise asked if she could get us another beverage. I asked “any idea?” Her response was “do you like wine with steak” Do I? Do I ever! She recommended a Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington. When the meal and wine came, it was awesome. We both enjoyed it. Now I’m not saying it was my three wolf sweatshirt that skewed my watering mouth, I’m just saying it didn’t hurt.
Service great, and food is...
Read moreWent here on Saturday 4/14/2023 with my family as a party of 3. We entered, asked a for a party of 3, and was sat right away in a booth. Our waitress was very nice. She immediately got us the pumpernickel bread that is delicious and 3 plates. She also told us that she will be right back to take our order. She was indeed right back. For drinks, we ordered 2 waters, and i ordered a strawberry lemonade. The strawberry lemonade was actually pretty good, and i enjoyed it. For starters, we got the Three Cheese Steak dip. It was pretty good, and not too creamy with steak bites. it is also served with chips. the chips were not salty at all. Next, we ordered our entrees: My mom ordered the Alice springs chicken with house salad and brocoli, my dad ordered the Blooming fried chicken with house salad and brocoli. I ordered my favorite, a steakhouse salad cooked M with no bleu cheese crumbles. The house salads did come out beforehand, and only feedback is i would ask if they want the salads with their meal, as my mom wanted hers with her meal. However, she ate it before her meal anyways. Before you know it all the entrees came, and my salad came out just the way i wanted it! no bleu cheese. Waitress was also good about asking about refills. I asked if they charge for refills for strawberry lemonades, and she said they didnt. Salad was good as always. My parents also enjoyed their meal. I asked for a box at the last minute to take home so i can eat it and finish it. (which i did, the very next day!) We paid with gift cards, and paid with a cash tip to our lovely waitress. Hope to...
Read moreThis past week my wife Yulia, our little baby, and I went out to celebrate our recent promotions at work (Yulia and I, not little baby). This was our go-to spot for years when we wanted a nice dinner without breaking the bank and, despite our recent windfalls, it will continue to be our place for a special night out. In a phase of life rife with change, Outback has remained a nostalgic backdrop to our relationship and there's something warming about that.
Jay was our server; he was knowledgeable, welcoming, and super on the money. Even had us laughing at points. Hospitality at it's best. We both had steak which was cooked to perfection and great quality meat. Seriously. On par with much pricier joints like Ruth's Chris. Maybe better? The bloomin onion is definitely not the healthiest but oh so good in all of it's crispy perfection. And I can rationalize that it's a veggie, right? Beer was cold and refreshing. The soda was syrupy and delicious (something my wife will frequently and aggressively call establishments out on when they don't bring the flavor).
Really thankful to have such great food, a relaxed atmosphere, and great staff so locally and at an affordable price point. Thanks Jay....
