The 1 word i can call this place..Jackpot!! I was looking for a place to take my son and since he is an avid pizza lover, and with the name of Arthur Ave, we had to try. It just so happens the owner, Brian Peroni, was born and raised in the Bronx! As soon as we walked in, we were greeted like family. Brian, Mario and Carmine have welcoming smiles and they all contribute in running the business. Since we were 4, he hurridly place 2 tables together so we can get comfortable. The pizzas come in personal sizes, good enough for 1 to 2 people. Brian prepared our pizzas, with skill and the oven he has bakes the pizzas in record time. The crust is crunchy and the pepperoni and cheese were generous. With his oven, the wait time can be 2 to 4 minutes. Very fast!!!
He also prepared a salad for the 4 of us to share. The leaves were fresh and crisp. He added some vinaigrette and it was the perfect amount. Since it was my son's Birthday, he gave him a free bonbon for later. The place is not too big, but it is big in feelings, family oriented, and flavor. We also got a nicely prepared cappuccino and some Italian cookies to go. We had the perfect lunch time adventure. This place is a true gem in Pleasantville NY! He is also a huge fan of the Sopranos, one of my favorite shows as well. Pictures of the actors which are signed dot the place. You will truly feel as if Brian is an uncle at his...
Read moreWas so excited to try this business, especially after reading the reviews. One question, who wrote them? Highly disappointed! My husband & I have been touring pizza places throughout the Hudson Valley. Originally from the Bronx, we have been seeking a BX rated pizza , with no success so far. First of all this place offers only one size....personal. In this case this was perhaps a plus. Bottom of pie was over charred. Either the char overpowered the flavor of the pie, or the pie had little flavor. Very thin crust, which was nice. However it wasn't crispy. Actually had a sad cardboard texture. Barely any sauce, & scant cheese. I ordered mine with eggplant. One star for eggplant. Unfortunately only 3 small pieces of eggplant per slice. For what you get, it's overpriced. I attempted to eat a 2nd slice, but my jaws were tired from chewing. And so the journey continues. Going to attempt pizzerias with lower ratings, maybe we'll have better luck. Hey, it's all about personal taste, or lack of taste for...
Read moreWow. My family is traveling and we happened across Arthur Avenue Wood fired Pizza. So glad we did. My daughters never knew pizza before today. Yes they've had it, but never experienced it. Thats how good it is, when you can taste the love of food and the passion for the craft in every bite. And dont get me started on the canolli. Everyone was super friendly and treated us like they knew us for years. When they found out our daughters had just performed in a choir at Carneige Hall they asked for a picture for their wall of fame which is quite impressive by the way. Whether the pic goes up or not, just the fact that they gave my girls something special to talk about with all of their friends meant the world to us. So make sure you stop by and get you a pie and dont forget...
