Aaaaaaaaaand... I’m out. I frequent this spot because it is oh so close to my house. After today, I am putting a life time BAN on it. I was in yesterday before the morning rush and went in today during the morning rush. Both days I was in shock and awe, the amount of time it takes them to complete an order makes me believe the cook top is only able to handle one item at a time... they must have to cook one egg, then one piece of bacon, then the home fries. That is the only way it would make sense that I had to sit in the shop for 30 minutes this morning and 20 minutes yesterday after placing my order. I know what you're thinking as you're reading this, and I agree, I don't mind waiting for quality food. Both yesterday and today I was served cold sandwiches leading me to believe my sandwich sits after being ready. This is not the first time this has happened to me by any means. You don't have to take my word for it, I attached a picture clearly showing the cheese wasn't melted on today’s sandwich. Any-well. I would feel bad about this, but this seems to be the norm. If you don't believe me, go in and sit by the door for a bit. 15 people walked in and turned right around to walk out while I was waiting today. A group of young men asked 3 times where their food was, and a couple that walked in 10 minutes after I ordered asked where their food was shortly before my order was called... If we don't post honest reviews they will never change, and they will continue to lose business. If my half an hour experience today was an accurate cross section they lose a potential customer once every 2 minutes. Allow me to give you some quick math on that; Let’s assume the breakfast rush is between 8-12 (I have been in their many times between those hours and they are always busy). Let’s assume an average ticket price per customer is $5 (My ticket today was $8 but I got extra egg and extra bacon). 1 lost customer every 2 minutes. 120 lost customers per morning. 6,240 lost customers per weekend (Saturday and Sunday Mornings) $31,200 in lost revenue each year without factoring in weekdays. The really sad part about this is when the sandwich is good it is one of the better spots in Newburgh. Sadly, that is probably 1 out of every 4 times I go, and I simply don’t want to continue to pay (or wait) for something that is only good 25% of the time. In closing, if you’re the type of person who likes to wait 30 minutes to eat cold food and listen to other customers complain about how long they have been waiting... Down Town Bagels is the spot for you! If you, like me, don’t like that… I would keep driving and try to find what seems to be the Holy Grail for Newburgh (a great spot for breakfast).

I always go to blazing bagels, but they are closed on Sunday ☹️. Gave this place a chance and was hopeful due to it being busy. I was extremely disappointed in the 2 takeout sandwiches. One bacon egg cheese on rye and one sausage egg and cheese on a roll for $10.92 😳 paid almost $2 more and receive much less. Received a bread sandwich with a finch egg and 2 pieces of bacon or more like bacon bits. The other ketchup sandwich was one piece of sausage which barely fit the roll with a finch egg. Employees were busy and still nice. Cook was stingy and atmosphere was typical quick stop deli.

This place is ridiculous I paid a little over $5 for this bacon egg and cheese and the sandwich itself wasn’t worth that. The bread was extremely cold, the cheese wasn’t even melted all they did was slap a slice of cold cheese on there and only one egg and the bacon wasn’t crispy as it should be. For $5 they should be putting 2 eggs minimum probably even a hasbrown as well. I’ve tried many bacon egg and cheese that were thousand times better and for less than $4. If the price is going to be expensive at least have the quality of the food match up.

Soooo....I have seriously been going here since they opened. I have continued to order my favorite sandwich, BLT. I can be a bit picky with the order but it goes as follows. Bacon, well done and extra of it, lettuce, tomato, light mayonnaise on a hard roll. Easy right?? No apparently not. I NEVER get my extra bacon, that I ALWAYS pay for. Bacon is rubbery. Not well done. Well I finally just about had it since my last two visits. There is this Spanish girl who has absolutely no people skills, rude , doesn't smile and always takes the order....maybe it's her fault they don't see it says extra bacon since she writes it this way :

X BLT Well

Now I don't really know....but enough is enough I won't be returning and in hopes that this Spanish girl gets the boot. The female owner is nice but even the last time I went in with a friend, ordered two bagels she said LIGHT cream cheese, I guess that meant she would get none while I had mounds of it, had a little of an attitude. IDK what happened in the past two years but service and food is completely mediocre and I won't give my...

I don’t even know where to start. I guess the nice thing is, the bagels aren’t terrible The service is abysmal. It’s easy to see it would be if you look behind the counter and see the absolute disarray. It’s chaos. Their “system” is lacking some very key elements. As a former deli manager, it’s also easy to see the missing links.

There was only 1 person in front of me, and yet it still took 10 minutes to make me a bagel with vegetable cream cheese and a small coffee. I saw my food dropped on the counter, in front of me 5 minutes before it was picked up and finally handed to me sans the coffee I ordered. When I finally was handed my coffee, it was not a decaf as requested.

Then, the cream cheese tasted like it was made with dry herbs and salt. Like they opened up a packet of vegetable soup mix and poured it into tasteless cream-cheese. It tastes nothing like vegetables or cream cheese. It was vile. The coffee wasn’t bad.

I am offering my services to this owner to save his business, reach out anytime. Please....
