Food is great but the service is awful. I have been a solid patron at the Panera Bread in East Greenbush for years. When the new store opened in North Greenbush, (much closer to my home) I was delighted. I have been to the store several times since their opening. Not once has my order been right. I attributed the errors to training. However, enough is enough.
I ordered and paid for two breakfast sandwiches with a latte to go. The sandwich was put in the paper bag. Not in their standard to go box, then in the bag. To add to it, only one sandwich was in the bag and no latte! I was in a rush and didn't check to bag and forgot about the latte until I got home. The expediter who checks the orders before going to the customer didn't notice items were missing. She just went through the motions and didn't check the order against the receipt.
Another time, I ordered and paid for a focaccia bread, and a dozen asiago bagels. When I got home, no bread.
My wife, son and myself stopped into the store for lunch. We each ordered a pick-two. Each of us ordered a sandwich with soup and a drink. When we received the order, it wasn't complete. The server brought out the three soups and two sandwiches. Never brought the third sandwich. We checked the receipt to ensure we ordered and paid for the missing sandwich. It was on the receipt. Only until I went to the back counter was the sandwich made and given to me.
This last time, I walked into the store. No one at the counter to take my order. I called out three times. Not a single person came to the counter. I could see the reflection of a worker in the oven door. I had to go to the back of the store where there is a counter looking into the kitchen. I interrupted a few workers who were talking to each other to ask if there was anyone working in the front.
This store has a significant issue with service. The training is certainly lacking. Would recommend that all the employees work in the East Greenbush store and learn what service is. I am no longer going to be a customer of this location. I would rather drive from Troy to East Greenbush (passing by this new store on my way) knowing that my order will always be correct. My son and I ( hes 5 yrs old) were waiting for about 5 minutes at the rapid pick up location thinking they are delayed nopppppe there not the girls over the counter were using the F bomb not relazing we were there. I walked up to give them my name because my email stated my order was ready the girl comes around and checks my email n says oh you ordered at a different location so I asked ok well then can you just make the food while I'm here it's paid for already she states well u will have to call to cancel your order with them and then we can make the food so then I said nvm can you please tell me where this location is at she states no im bad with directions sorry!!! So long story short the location I ordered from is only for college students the number I called to cancel is for the college campus and I didn't even get my meal we ordered pizza instead & they wouldn't allow me to Cancel the order online either!!! It's Christmas Eve and after planning and preparing for two weeks my family totally bailed on me , I was stuck in town because it was too cold for me to walk home , and every Lyft driver on the planet was cancelling on me . So while I was trying to keep warm , I stopped into this Panera to get something to eat . I was literally two seconds from crying at any given minute , but all the staff that I interacted with were so incredibly nice and kind . Katie ( I'm pretty sure the new manager's name was ) and the others went out of their way to check in on me while I waited for my ride to make me feel better , and they completely turned my day around , and for that I can't thank them enough . I straight up cried in the car telling my boyfriend how sweet they were and how much what they did meant to me . I sincerely hope they see this review and get some love sent their way - they're amazing and I hope to see them again...
