I have not yet left. 3 star review on Yelp. Usually I love or don't love a place. But I found Tipsy Moose as meh. We were seated right away, the ambiance is great, I like that the drink menu is up on a big screen behind the bar and our waiter was fantastic! My husband and I ordered a sour beer each. Our waiter forgot to bring mine for about 10 minutes so I asked again and he brought it right away and comped it for the "trouble". He certainly didn't have to do that and was so kind. Now the meh part.... The food. We shared the artichoke dip and sausage gravy poutine which comes with fried chicken. The dip was a little skimpy. We ate all the dip and had more than 1/2 the chips left. For the price, I feel like they could double the amount of dip they give you. With the poutine, I enjoyed the taste of the seasoned fries. It I think they left it in the over a few minutes too long because many of the fried were very hard and inedible so we left about 1/2 on the plate. Will go back for a drink because I liked the drink menu, beer choices and ambiance but might skip the food next time.

We love a good poutine and haven’t found anywhere in America that gets as close to a proper Canadian poutine as Tipsy Moose. This place has great bar food and we highly recommend the poutine. The cheese curds and gravy are a great salty and savory balance over fries. This meal would be great in the winter as it will keep you warm for hours. The spicy fried cheese curds were well-seasoned and paired well with the raspberry sauce. The sweetness of the raspberry really complimented the savory, slightly spicy, cheese curds. We saw in other reviews that people recommended the Mac n’ cheese here so I ordered the Buffalo chicken Mac n’ cheese. Although, I highly underestimated how spicy buffalo sauce is in upstate New York and while it was delicious and I enjoy spicy food, I would prefer the regular next time. Overall, this place has a good pub vibe, interesting decor, and comfort food!

It’s hard to not compare this location to the Latham one, because unfortunately it’s just not quite on the same page (yet I hope). The spinach artichoke dip was great, although my buffalo chicken pizza just wasn’t up to the standards I had hoped for. It was drowning in cheese and therefore was really floppy and soggy. Also all the buffalo was concentrated on one side which made it look really careless. It would be better if some of the chicken were covered in some buffalo sauce because half of my pizza was just cheese and then the other was buffalo overload. Hoping they tune up these imperfections over time. As mentioned before, I don’t think it’s fair to make waiters have to turn sideways to fit between tables. Lastly the draft from the door is a bitter one, of you’re on one of the putter tables.

We'd wanted to try the Tipsy Moose for years--we are major fans of the place next door, Deli & Brew (whose NY-style pizza is the best in the region, but who are known in the area for their sandwiches). Every time we'd pick up a pizza at Deli & Brew we'd say that we really should try the Tipsy. Finally we did. I ordered one of their Maple & Coffee Whiskeys and a beer-battered Reuben and my wife ordered the Mac n' Cheese (bacon and tomatoes added). First I have to say that other than the Deli & Brew location next door to Tipsy the best sandwiches in the area can be found at JC's Deli on Central Ave, in the Kohl's strip mall. They are tremendous and you should try them out--and don't miss out on the cookies. Anyway, somehow, in some alternate universe scenario, Tipsy Moose made a sandwich that was simply better than anything I'd ever received at JC's. (This is not supposed to be possible). The beer-battered bread was of such a consistency that I can only compare it to the very best fried fish I've ordered in British-style fish & chips joints (I'm talking consistency, not taste, people). It was perfection. Heavenly. The sandwich--technically not a Reuben at all, but a Rachel as it is filled with turkey, and I do mean filled--was generous in proportion and, well, exquisite. The Mac n' Cheese is really what they are known for, I guess. Very large portion (I'd say there are three meals in there). Flavorful. I'm not a real connoisseur of mac. It was good, very good. The whiskey? Amazing. Try it, especially if you are a fan of espresso martinis. It kind of tastes, to me, like an espresso martini should taste like (as to that I like mine Irish, with Irish Creme...yum). I will eventually buy a bottle. Or two. So this place, while on the small side and whose music might play a bit loud (not too bad, but we were seated under a speaker), will get a return visit from us, and should also get a visit or two from you all out there in internetlandia. Oh, service was good too,...

I'm glad we finally got into this place that has very little seating so that I know that I'll never go back. It's my birthday so I wanted to check out somewhere new. Told the server it was my birthday and I'd heard they do a free growler on your birthday. She confirmed that but didn't offer a "happy birthday". No big deal but would have been nice. She wasn't overly friendly nor attentive the entire time and the food was meh at best. I asked to see a draft menu in case I wanted to try something. Took her a while to get it but she never came back to see if I wanted anything so I never tried the beer. We ordered soup and the mac and cheese for my kids to come out first. Everything came out at the same time instead. My mom got some turkey Reuben that wasn't even warm. I got a BLT with bread that wasn't so much toasted as it was warmed until dry and crumbly. The french onion soup was very bland with what seemed to be a large piece of plain white bread as the crouton and the onions were undercooked. My kids' mac and cheese seemed ok but I didn't try it. We got a side order of sweet potato fries that were ok but not very hot. No dessert on the menu so that added to my great birthday experience. I thought I'd get to choose a beer for the growler but they give you some gross lager instead. I gave 2 stars because the food was edible and the fries and mac and cheese were good sized portions. Definitely won't go back. Wish I'd...

We love going to Tipsy Moose and this place has easily become home on nights I don't want to cook! There are multiple locations in the Capital Region, but our favorite location is the Troy one (located near Hudson Valley Community College.) We love the cozy atmosphere and its great selection of comfort foods and drinks.

The menu features a variety of delicious options, including appetizers like steak tips and loaded fries, hearty sandwiches and burgers, salads, flatbread pizzaz, mac & cheese and other entrees. Whether you’re looking for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner with friends, there's something for everyone.

On weekends, they also serves brunch with mimosas by the bottle and their famous Bloody Mary Bar. The brunch menu features classic favorites such as breakfast tacos, Eggs Benedict, French Toast and waffles, in addition to creative dishes like breakfast poutine and their weekly featured brunch specials.

Tipsy Moose also offers an extensive drink selection, including a variety of craft beers, cocktails and wines — many of which are sourced locally.

With a laid-back vibe and friendly staff, the bar at Tipsy Moose is the perfect place to catch up with friends or unwind after a long day. Jay, Todd and the others at Tipsy treat us like family and we're glad we live nearby! If you’re in the Troy area and looking for a great place to grab a bite, eat or have a drink, don’t miss out...
