Azteca Deli Grocery — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Azteca Deli in Westbury is another excellent authentic Mexican restaurant. You may have seem my past posts about other Mexican food establishments in Westbury. I've also reviewed Azteca in the past but all those times I was picking up food. Today I finally stopped by for lunch inside the Deli/restaurant. The sitting down experience totally kicks ass!!! I love the vibes here. Fast paced happy Mexican music called Norteno blasts from the speakers above. The Aztec themed colors and artworks are on the walls. There are gods myth and legends in this place as the very friendly owner spoke to us about less known Mexican travel destinations. The complimentary starter appetizers of sliced cucumbers, radish, and Tortilla chips show off the authenticity of this Mexican restaurant. We ordered Birira Tacos, Pancita (menudo) tripes soup, and a Chucharrone Guisado which is a stewed simmer down deep fried pork served with rice and beans with green sauce. The hotsauces, salsa, pickled onions, and condiments are so good here. We had these $7 huge drinks of Horchata as well as Jamaica(Sorel) very delicious and generously presented. The festive Mexican music here adds happy touch to the delicious experience. As a local resident, parent, and Realtor®️ I'm grateful for these authentic ethnic food scene.

RUDE. The customer service here is by far one of the most horrific experiences of my life. They brought the soup my mother had order cold, which is fine mistakes happen. However, when I called the waitress over to notify her of the soup being cold and asking to warm it up the lady was super rude, and aggressive and told my mother to that she couldn’t warm it up. Then a guy came out of the kitchen and started to yelled at my mom he told my mother to get up and come warm it up her self in the kitchen. After my mother said no thats okay. He kept on yelling at her insisting that she gets up and go to the kitchen so she can warm it up herself. After that he went back into the kitchen cursing on the way there and yelling stuff about the situation. My mother kept her cool saying she was okay that she didn’t want the soup. SEXIST & RUDE. The customer service here is by far one of the most unpleasant experiences of my life. They messed up my order , which is fine mistakes happen. However, when I called to notify them of the mistake the lady was super rude, and confrontational and told my mother to confront her in person. This lady was super aggresive on the phone. Then starts ranting off about having personal issues meanwhile my mother had knee surgery and the lady knew this and still kept getting confrontational insisting she gets up and confront her in person. She hung up the phone on my mom. Then a man calls back and starts yelling stating we are not ladies, ladies do not speak in that form, and how dare us make the lady cry. My mother was kind on the phone for the most part kept her cool, they need to get their employees in order. Their business will go down the drain.
