Punta Cana Dominican Grill — Restaurant in Town of North Hempstead

Today we placed an order through their online service! We waited 45 minutes to get our food. We got to our food after the driver left and noticed we had the wrong food. We called the restaurant letting them know we got the wrong food and all they could say was it’s door dash fault call them! They were not sympathetic or even tried to help with a solution. I spoke to the general manager and she tells me she’s sending out food again, great wait another 45 mins for food ok I’ll wait. I speak to door dash and the restaurants general manager again blamed it on the driver and took no responsibility. So we get no refund ok..... It’s now 4 o’clock and we still have no food, speak to the general manager at punta cana again and she says that a refund will be issued, and she never said she was sending food again. We waited 3 hours just to find out we weren’t getting any food! I love their food and I love supporting local business but I WILL NEVER BUY FOOD HERE AGAIN! It’s about the principle at this point! Had they offered a better solution instead of wiping their hands of the responsibility it may have had a different outcome. I have ordered from this restaurant 3 times. The food is great but please make sure to pick up your own food and check your order before you walk out. For the second time I ordered through uber eats and they left an entire $13.00 meal out of my delivery. I get things happen so I was willing to order again. Today I placed another almost $70.00 order and again they check off that the dish is in the bag and again we are missing another meal. I called the restaurant and they tell me that I can come into the restaurant to pick up the meal or I can request a refund from uber. (If I paid for the Uber eats service and tip why would I then come to pick up my food) These were individual meals so of course one of us was was without a dinner. Last time I’ll order from this place.

Uber eats refunded my missing items and I was not looking for more then a refund and in the future better customer service which Jon said he would speak to the...

So the good thing about this place is the service. They were very friendly staff who seemed patient and willing to help. The food was ok but in my personal opinion, I don't think they stick out very much. El arroz con gandules did lack a bit of flavor. The cheeseburger empanada was ok. My first thought was definitely not that it tasted like a cheeseburger. Nonetheless it wasn't a horrible empanada. I got a bowl of food which consisted of arroz con gandules, beef, platanos & macaroni & cheese. I did really enjoy the mac&cheese & platanos. For the bowl of food, 1 cheeseburger empanada and a bottled drink the total came out to be 17 & change. But keep in mind the price is based on the protein you pick... I believe. My sister got shrimp instead of beef and it did come out to $20. They also offered me sauce. I ended up trying all 3. The employee was kind enough to explain to me which one was which.
